5 common skin damaging habits that make you look older
Everyone wishes to have perfect skin and try out different skin care products for achieving this goal, but, do you know that some of the daily skin care habits, that you may not even think of, can make your skin age faster.
Today in this post, I am going to let you know about these common skin care mistakes, that can damage your skin.
Mistake #1 – Not washing your face before going to bed
After a hectic day, your body is ready to take some rest, but your skin is not !!
If you’re not wearing any make-up and you think you can go directly to bed without washing your face, you’re making a big mistake.
It is very important to cleanse your skin before going to bed so that your skin can breathe and also repair itself.
Accumulation of Dirt and oil on your skin can lead to inflammation and breakouts.
so, Before going to bed follow an easy three-step skin care regime daily
Remove your make up, wash your face with a gentle facial cleanser and then apply a moisturiser enriched with botanical oils.
Mistake #2 – You tend to Skip the Sunscreen lotion
Most people use a sunscreen lotion only in the summers or when they are going on the beach, but, you need to know that even in a cold or cloudy day UV rays can damage your skin cells
A broad-spectrum SPF blocks both UVA and UVB rays to protect your skin from the damage
Look out for a sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30, and if you step outside, then you can easily reapply your sunscreen lotion after every 2 hours.
Mistake #3 – Not drinking enough water
Skin is the largest organ of the human body, and it is very important to keep your skin cells hydrated as they tend to dry out very fast especially in the summers..
Without adequate supply of water, these skin cells will get dehydrated and break your skin out, so if you wish to have radiant, glowing skin, make sure you drink enough water and stay hydrated
You can keep your skin hydrated topically by applying a hydrating moisturiser that suits your skin type, but that is not enough.
So, You must drink lots of water every day so that your skin remains hydrated , besides that, drinking enough water will also flush out toxins from your body
Mistake #4 – Exfoliating your Skin too Frequently
You have to remove the dull and dead skin cells from the topmost layer of your skin, but scrubbing abrasively is not one of the best ways to do that
Exfoliating frequently will scrape your skin off the barrier that maintains the moisture balance of your skin.
Rather than scrubbing, you can soothe dry skin with hydration.
Mistake #5 – Having lots of sugar
Studies show that having too much sugar and carbs can speed up your skin’s ageing process.
Consume sugar in a moderate amount and include more fruits and veggies in your diet, as it can prevent early signs of ageing and also repair the damaged skin.
