Clay masks are amazing for your skin. They work wonderfully for your skin making it clear and bright. There are several types of clay available in the market. Here are some DIY clay masks which are effective for oily skin –

1. Multani mitti mask

Ingredients required – 

  • 2 tablespoons of fuller’s earth clay or Multani mitti
  • 1 tablespoon of rosewater
  • 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice

What to do?

  1. Take a bowl, add the Multani mitti or fuller’s earth clay in it.
  2. Now, add the rosewater and the lemon juice in the bowl.
  3. Mix them well, forming a paste.
  4. Now, wash your face and pat it dry.
  5. Remove all the make-up.
  6. Apply the paste all over your face leaving your under-eye area.
  7. Let it dry for 20 to 30 minutes.
  8. After it dries out, wash your face using lukewarm water.

How often to do?

Do this process at least once a week.

2. Bentonite and lemon clay mask

Ingredients required –

  • 3 teaspoons of bentonite clay
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 3 drops of essential lemon oil
  • Water (as required)
  • A clean cloth

What to do?

  1. Take the cloth and dampen it with some water.
  2. Place it on your face and leave it for 5 minutes.
  3. Now, take a ceramic bowl and add the clay to it.
  4. Now add the essential lemon oil and lemon juice in the bowl.
  5. Add a little bit of water to form a smooth paste.
  6. Now, apply it all over your face and your neck excluding your eye area.
  7. After it dries, wash it off with warm water.

How often to do?

Repeat this at least once a week.

3. Bentonite clay and Oatmeal mask

Ingredients required –

  • 2 tablespoons of bentonite clay
  • 1 tablespoon of oatmeal
  • 2 drops of tea tree oil
  • Water (as required)

What to do?

  1. Take a container and add one tablespoon of oatmeal to it.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of bentonite clay in the container.
  3. Now, add the tea tree oil.
  4. Finally, add the water and mix it all with a plastic spoon.
  5. Before applying it, wash your face with warm water.
  6. Pat your face dry.
  7. Apply the paste all over your face except your under-eye area.
  8. After 10 to 15 minutes, wash it off using cold water by slowly massaging your skin.

How often to do?

Apply it daily.

4. The French green clay mask

Ingredients required –

  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of French green clay
  • 1/2 teaspoon of kaolin clay
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
  • 1 tablespoon of rosewater
  • 2 drops of rose essential oil

What to do?

  1. Take a glass bowl, add the French green clay and the Kaolin clay in it.
  2. Now, add the Aloe Vera gel to it.
  3. Next, add the rosewater.
  4. Mix it well and add the rose essential oil and then mix for a few more minutes.
  5. Apply it on your face excluding your under-eye area.
  6. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off with mild cleanser and water, follow up with your regular moisturizer.
  7. You can refrigerate and use it for a few weeks.

How often to do?

Repeat this daily for good results.

5. Charcoal clay mask

Ingredients required – 

  • 3 tablespoons of bentonite clay
  • 1 tablespoon of activated charcoal
  • 3 tablespoons of witch hazel or micellar water
  • 20 drops of tea tree oil
  • 3 grams of hyaluronic serum (optional)
  • A silicon tube

What to do?

  1. Take a bowl, add the bentonite clay in it.
  2. Add the activated charcoal to the bowl.
  3. After mixing both the ingredients, add the witch hazel or micellar water to them.
  4. Now, add the tea tree oil, and the hyaluronic serum if you want.
  5. Mix all of them well and transfer it into a silicon tube for storage.
  6. Apply it on your face excluding the under-eye area.
  7. Let it dry and then wash it with warm water and pat your skin dry.
  8. Apply your daily moisturizer.

How often to do?

Apply this daily.
