Facial scrubs have become an integral part of beauty regime as it clears away the dead cells and impurities from the face making it fresh and radiant. Friends, today I am going to share with you recipes of 5 facial scrubs that can be easily made at home with help of natural ingredients.


Olive Oil + Sugar Facial Scrub

How To:

  1. Take one tbsp of olive oil in a glass bowl and add half tbsp of sugar to it.
  2. Mix it just once so that the sugar remains in coarse form for exfoliating.
  3. Apply this to your face with help of your fingertips.
  4. Massage and exfoliate for a few
  5. Leave it for ten minutes.
  6. Rinse it with normal water.

How it Works:

Sugar works as an exfoliating agent and olive oil have enough nutrients to clear dead cells and make the skin radiant.

Honey + Oatmeal Facial Scrub

How To:

  1. Take two tbsp of oats and one tbsp of raw honey in a bowl and mix it together to form a paste.
  2. Apply it on the face and massage in circular motion to exfoliate.
  3. Leave it for ten minutes.
  4. Rinse it off with water.

How it Works:

Oatmeal has antioxidant properties and reduces dead cells and itchiness from the skin and honey is a humectant that acts as a hydrating agent. Both ingredients make a great facial scrub.

Coconut oil + Sugar Facial Scrub

How To:

  1. Take one tbsp of coconut oil and two tbsp of raw sugar in a glass bowl.
  2. Stir to make a coarse paste.
  3. Apply it in the face with fingertips in a circular motion.
  4. Massage and scrub to exfoliate dead cells.
  5. Leave it for fifteen minutes. Wash it away with normal water.

How it Works:

Coconut oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties that moisturize, and cleans skin and clears dead cells. Sugar acts as an exfoliator and both make a good facial scrub.

Baking Soda Facial Scrub

How To:

  1. Take two tbsp of baking soda in a glass bowl and add one tbsp of water to it.
  2. We need a smooth and fine paste so add water accordingly.
  3. Apply this paste on the face and exfoliate in a circular motion.
  4. Leave it to dry for twenty minutes.
  5. Wash it away with cool water.

How it Works:

Baking soda is an antioxidant and acts as an exfoliating agent to clean the impurities from the pores. It makes a great facial scrub.

Coffee Grounds Facial Scrub

How To:

  1. Take some coffee beans and grind it to make coffee powder.
  2. Take one tbsp of grounded coffee and add one tbsp of water to it.
  3. We need a thick paste so add water accordingly.
  4. Wash and dry your face beforehand.
  5. Apply the coffee paste on the face with your fingertips.
  6. Massage it for five minutes.
  7. Leave it to dry for fifteen minutes.
  8. Wash it away with normal water.

How it Works:

Coffee grounds paste make an excellent facial scrub as it tightens the skin and makes it firm.

I have seen lots of people taking the easy way out and using counter-products that are chemically induced and have harmful effects on our skin. This is the reason why I am always emphasizing the importance of using homemade scrubs as they are natural with no side-effects.
