To create this potent powder, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Curry leaves (also known as kadi patta)
  • Chana dal
  • Urad dal
  • Cumin seeds
  • Cloves
  • Black pepper

Here’s a step-by-step guide to making the powder:

  1. Begin by taking 2-3 handfuls of fresh curry leaves. Wash them thoroughly and allow them to dry completely.
  2. Once dry, roast the curry leaves until they become crisp.
  3. In a pan, heat one spoonful of oil. Add one spoonful each of black pepper and cumin seeds, and fry them for approximately 2 minutes.
  4. Remove the pepper and cumin seeds from the pan. In the remaining oil, add two spoonfuls each of urad dal and chana dal. Roast them until they turn brown, which should take about 2 minutes.
  5. Next, add 8-10 garlic cloves to the pan and continue roasting for an additional 2 minutes, ensuring to stir continuously.
  6. Once everything is nicely roasted, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool.
  7. Transfer all the roasted ingredients into a grinder and grind them until you achieve a fine powder consistency.
