  1. As you know, aloe vera is edged with thorns. Before trying to remove them, clean the plant in a bowl under running water.
  2. Remove the thorns by scrapping them off with a knife.
  3. Once this is done, cut the leaf into small pieces.
  4. Now, gently remove the outer layer of the leaf in such a way you get the gel to ooze out. Do not do it too much as it might lead to wasting of gel.
