How to bleach your skin naturally at home

By Glowpink Staff

I always suggest avoiding bleaching creams available in the market as they contain very harsh chemicals and not good for your skin. The best way to bleach your skin is by preparing a natural, organic bleaching cream at home. You can try these home remedies listed down below, the ingredients used are completely natural and also suitable for sensitive skin. However, we would still recommend a patch test as some people are allergic to natural ingredients.

Mix together powdered milk, freshly squeezed lemon juice and some honey dosing the ingredients depending on the area you want to cover. Mix well until the milk powder has dissolved and formed a thick paste then apply to your face, neck, shoulders or pretty much any area you want to brighten and rejuvenate. Due to it’s both cleansing and nurturing properties, the mask can be used multiple times during the week although you should do a patch test first to determine your skin’s reaction to lemon juice. Make sure that your face is squeaky clean before applying this natural bleach. Then dip a cotton petal in this mixture, squeeze out the excess and then gently dab it all over your face. Let it dry up completely and then use a toner and moisturizer to complete this skincare regime. Apply this face pack once in a month and you are good to go. It is a great option to go for if you are allergic to natural bleach and you can easily do it at home without spending a fortune in the salon.

Next on my list of suggestions on ways to bleach skin naturally would be to give the oatmeal and tomato mask a shot. This mask cleanses, exfoliates and brightens #skin very effectively and is a perfect thing to use a couple of weeks after your summer holidays when your gorgeous bronzy tan starts to come off in spots. All you’ll have to do is mix oatmeal and tomato juice until you get a paste, apply the mixture and leave it to dry before you rinse it off gently.  Pat dry your skin with a face towel, use your regular toner and then slather on a thick layer of moisturizer, massage it until it gets completely absorbed by your skin. Use it twice a week with an interval of at least 3days in between to get a subtle glow on your skin. Apart from bleaching, it will also mildly exfoliate your face to reveal a brighter, smoother skin hidden underneath the layer of dead skin cells. As simple as that! Getting flawless skin at home is now just a bleach away.

Dandelion leaves are yet another way to bleach skin naturally so be patient, apply your dandelion mixture frequently and your freckles, sun or age spots should become much lighter and less noticeable. The mixture itself can be made in many different ways and even bought in some pharmacies or specialized shops but, in case you feel crafty or can’t find a natural, yet, the affordable ready-made solution here’s a few ways on how to do it. Chop fresh dandelion leaves (you’ll need about a quarter of a cup), steep them in castor oil for about two weeks then strain and use every day. You can also brew a strong chamomile and dandelion tea, let it sit overnight then strain and use it to rinse larger areas of skin. Don’t throw away your herbs either – pat them into more noticeable darker spots and let them dry before you rinse off. Wipe your face clean with a face towel. You can either spritz on a hydrating facial mist or use a toner and then followup with a moisturizer to finish off this skincare regime. To reap the maximum benefits. use this bleach once or twice in a fortnight and you are good to go. It will not only give you a brighter face but also eventually decrease the appearance of sunspots and freckles from your face.

Fear not, my ladies, as there are more ways to bleach skin naturally – just in case these treatments haven’t worked for your skin type. Whisk up a healthy, nurturing and lightening mask by mashing up flesh of one very ripe, smaller papaya and adding a tbsp of fresh lemon juice and a teaspoon of raw honey. Apply the paste on your face, neck or other areas you want to lighten and let it work its magic for 5 minutes before you rinse it off. If your skin feels dried out, then follow up with toner and moisturizer to lock in the nourishment. You can use this bleach twice a week to get the best results.

Lightening your freckles using these natural skin bleach recipes can be very hard and even impossible but worry not- there is a natural remedy for this as well! Blend one cup of water, one half of a cup of steam distilled rose water and a quarter of a cup of yogurt and add a teaspoon of boric acid. Apply this solution on your freckles using a  q-tip and let it work its magic overnight. Don’t forget to do a patch test first, of course, especially if you’ve never used boric acid before. Rinse it off with running tap water and continue with your regular morning skincare regime. I promise that you will be surprised by the amazing results. To get the best results, use this mask once or twice in a month and you are good to go.

Although it doesn’t have the power to drastically lighten skin, aloe Vera gel is a good product to try out, especially if you’re not in the market for a real homemade skin bleach but something that could wipe off that grayish tone off your face. Applying natural, organic aloe vera gel instead of a skin brightening or lightening bleach will impart a subtle glow on your face and leave your skin soft and fresh. I use my 100% aloe vera as a rejuvenating night tonic but you can apply yours in the morning as well because it also works wonders for dull, tired skin that hasn’t had a chance to regenerate itself naturally over the night due to the lack of sleep. Guess what, it also doubles up as a natural sunscreen lotion and suits almost every skin type. If you have dry skin, then you need to follow up with a moisturizer but if you have oily skin then you can skip that.

7. Hydrogen-peroxide skin lightening bleach

To prepare this bleach keep 3/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of citric acid, filtered water (as much as required), 20 drops of lemon essential oil and an airtight container handy. Take a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients in the specified quantities in it. Mix it well until you achieve a smooth, lump-free bleach. Transfer the contents in an airtight container and then fill in the rest of the container with purified water. Shake it well to make sure that everything gets mixed up well. Cleanse your face with your regular face wash, pat dry your face with a towel. Take a generous amount of this bleach on your face pack applicator and gently apply it evenly all over your face. Wait until it dries up completely and then wash it off with running tap water. Pat dry your face with a towel, follow up with a toner and a moisturizer to get the best results. You can use this bleach only once in a week to bleach your skin at home.
