Daily Skin Care Routine for Acne Prone Skin

Acne can be hard to manage. It is very important to make sure that you use natural ingredients carefully. Natural ingredients can help in healing the skin and getting rid of acne.


Step 1

Facial Steam

How to:

  1. Heat up two cups of water.
  2. Cover the lid to rap the steam while the water is getting hot.
  3. Once the water is hot and you notice the steam coming out, add 3 teaspoons of lemon juice to the water.
  4. Remove the vessel from the heat carefully.
  5. Place the vessel on a firm surface so that it does not fall or flip over.
  6. Place a towel above your head.
  7. Now bring your face closer to the vessel such that the steam is touching your skin.
  8. Take the steam for a few minutes.
  9. Make sure you lift your face every few seconds so that your skin does not get burnt from the heat.
  10. Using the steaming bowl equipment will be hassle free and much safer to do the same steps.

How this helps:

Steam allows your skin pores to open up. This also helps in the release of toxins from the pores. Once the pres are open, you can simply use further ingredients to make sure that the ingredients seep in better.

Cleansing

How to:

  1. Take 1 tablespoon of baby face wash.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of honey to it.
  3. Add 2 drops of tea tree oil.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Wet your hands and face.
  6. Rub the cleanser between your palms to lather it up.
  7. Apply on the face and cleanse the skin for 1 minute.
  8. Rinse off with plain water.

How this helps:

Baby face wash is very mild on the skin. The reason why we are not exfoliating the skin after using steam is because exfoliating can irritate the skin. tea tree oil is anti bacterial and anti fungal in nature.

Step 3

Toner

How to:

  1. Mix 5 drops of neem essential oil with 3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel.
  2. Add 3-4 drops of tea tree oil.
  3. Add ½ teaspoon of vitamin E oil.
  4. Pour this mixture into a spray bottle.
  5. Add 4 tablespoons of rose water.
  6. Shake the bottle to mix the contents.
  7. Spray this toner on your face and dab the skin with a cotton ball or your fingers.
  8. You need not wash your skin after this.
  9. Use this toner 2-3 times a day or whenever you want to freshen the skin.

How this helps:

Aloe vera gel moisturizes the skin without clogging the pores. Vitamin E oil reduces inflammation.

Step 4

Face Mask

How to:

Neem and Turmeric

How to:      

  1. Take 1 tablespoon of neem powder.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of fuller’s earth powder to it.
  3. Add 3-4 drops of turmeric essential oil.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of rose water.
  5. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.
  6. Mix well to get a thick paste.
  7. Apply on the face.
  8. Let the mask dry up completely.
  9. Rinse off using plain water.
  10. Follow up with a light weight moisturizer like aloe vera gel.
  11. Do this remedy once every day.

How this helps:

Neem is anti bacterial and anti fungal in nature. Turmeric powder fights acne and also treats pigmentation. Fuller’s earth powder reduces the excess oil present on the skin.

Note:

You can use this routine once every day. You should take facial stream only once a week.
