DIY Natural Aloe Vera Makeup Setting Spray

Aloe Vera

You Will Need:

  • 1 Tablespoon of Pure Aloe Vera Gel
  • 3 Tablespoons of Distilled Water

How To:

  1. Cut a fresh aloe vera leaf and extract the gel from it. Mash it with a spoon to make a smooth gel.
  2. Add three tablespoons of pure water to the aloe vera gel and mix them together to make a clear solution.
  3. Convert all this solution in a small spray bottle. Make sure that the bottle is clean and sanitized by putting it in boiling water for a few seconds.
  4. Shake the bottle well and apply the solution on your face after putting on makeup to keep it as it is.
  5. Take a moist warm towel to properly clear the makeup setting spray from your face. You can make a big batch of this solution and keep it in the fridge for future use.

This is probably one of the easiest makeup setting sprays that you can make at home. Aloe Vera gel is very easy to find and you can extract it yourself after growing some in your backyard. Aloe vera helps in keeping your skin radiant and healthy and can make your makeup last longer than usual.


Aloe Vera and Witch Hazel

You Will Need:

  • 1 Tablespoon of Aloe Vera Gel
  • 1 Tabelspoon of Witch Hazel
  • 6-7 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • Water

How To:

  1. Put a tablespoon of aloe vera gel and witch hazel in a blender and blend them to make a smooth puree.
  2. Add some drops of lavender essential oil in the puree and mix them properly.
  3. After all, this, pour just enough water in the mixture to make it a clear solution. Mix all the ingredients together to blend them properly.
  4. Take a small spray bottle and pour the aloe vera and witch hazel solution in it. Keep it in a dry place when not in use.
  5. Apply your makeup before using this setting spray. Give the bottle a shake and gently pump it two to three times on your face. Keep the bottle a few inches away from your face for better application.
  6. Wait for a couple of minutes to allow the spary to set in your skin. Don’t touch it while it dries naturally.
  7. Use lukewarm water whenever you want to remove the setting spray from your face.

Witch hazel is a great natural astringent which aids the body in getting rid of the toxins lying on your skin. It also kills any bacteria hiding within the skin preventing acne and even skin cancer. Lavender essential oil not only helps the makeup to stay on a little while longer, it gives a fine aroma as well.

Aloe Vera and Glycerine

You Will Need:

  • 2 Tablespoons of Aloe Vera Gel
  • 2 Tablespoons of Glycerine
  • 1 Tablespoon of Vitamin E Oil
  • Water

How To:

  1. Heat the water for some time until it is slightly warm.
  2. Now, add a couple of tablespoons of aloe vera gel to warm water and give it a little stir.
  3. Put the rest of the ingredeints in the mixture and mix them properly to make a thin clear mixture.
  4. Let the solution cool down to room temperature and then pour it into a small glass spray bottle. You can use a funnel to stop any spills.
  5. You can use this mixture before or after the makeup depending on your choice. Just keep it a few inches away from your face and spray it a couple of times only. You don’t want to soak your face with this.
  6. Due to the addition of Vitamin E oil, this mixture can stay on your shelf for a long time without needing refridgeration.

Glycerine is also quite effective in setting the makeup when combined with aloe vera. Although it is said that people with dry skin should not use this spray, there is no conclusive evidence supporting that claim.


Aloe Vera and Rose Water

You Will Need:

  • 1 Tablespoon of Aloe Vera Gel
  • 1/2 Cup of Rose Water

How To:

  1. Extract some fresh aloe vera gel from an aloe leaf and keep it aside in a small cup.
  2. Add half a cup of rose water to the aloe vera gel and then mix both the ingredients together.
  3. Take a clean glass spray bottle and translate the aloe vera solution from the cup to this spray bottle.
  4. Apply your makeup carefully and wait for a couple of minutes to let it dry and set in your skin.
  5. Shake the spray bottle and spritz the solution on your makeup a couple of times. Keep your eyes closed during the process and cover your entire makeup with this solution.
  6. This solution is very potent and can save your makeup from getting ruined for an entire day as well.
  7. Use cold water splashes to completely remove the makeup as well as the makeup setting solution from your face.

Rose water keeps the skin hydrated and moisturized throughout the day. It creates a fine covering over the makeup preventing it from getting smudged or ruined. It is a very great remedy and can be used every time you are applying makeup.

Aloe Vera and Tea Tree Oil

You Will Need:

  • 2 Tablespoons of Aloe Vera Gel
  • 2 Tablespoons of Tea Tree Oil
  • Water

How To:

  1. Mix a couple tablespoons of aloe vera gel with thrice the amount of water in a small cup.
  2. Add two tablespoons of tea tree oil in the mixture and mix them well. Keep the cup over a warm water bath so that the aloe vera gel and tea tree oil emulsify together properly.
  3. Take a spray bottle and wash it clean with some lukewarm water.
  4. Move the aloe vera solution from the cup to the spray bottle.
  5. Shake the bottle vigorously to mix any settled parts before spraying it on your face. You can use this spray before or after the makeup.
  6. Keep the bottle in a dry place and try to make new batches every three to four days as this doesn’t have a big shelf life.

Tea tree oil, apart from keeping your makeup safe from the outside world, prevents acne or pimples that are caused due to blockage of pores. Most of the time your makeup is the prime reason for blocking the pores so using this spray could prove really beneficial.
