DIY Oatmeal Milk Cleanser for Winter Dry skin

Oatmeal cleaners have been in the market for quite some time now for all the right reasons. They gently exfoliate the skin without being too harsh and keeps it soft and supple. If you want to keep commercial oatmeal and milk-based skin care products at bay, then try out the DIY facial cleansers, scrubs and face packs. Believe me, this cleanser is really very effective, you will get real soft skin if you use this on a daily basis. It’s simple. It is easy to whip it up – and very effective, it also replenishes your skin from deep within:


Milk-oatmeal gentle facial cleanser for all skin types

Ingredients required: (for 2-3 applications)

  • 1 tablespoon powdered goat’s milk (substitute powdered organic buttermilk or powdered regular milk as well)
  • 1 tablespoon organic oatmeal
  • Distilled water
  • A few drops of honey (optional for a face mask version)

Procedure:

  1. In a food processor, blender, or mortar and pestle – grind the oatmeal into a fine powder.
  2. If you have a food processor, kitchen mill or oat grinder than those are your best options for this step.
  3. The finer the oatmeal – the nicer the overall texture in your final cleanser. (this finely ground oatmeal has a fancy name – colloidal oatmeal.)
  4. Add the powdered milk, and blend the two ingredients together.
  5. To use: put a tablespoon of the powder in your palm and add about a teaspoon of distilled water.
  6. Blend together to form a paste, and slowly add more water as desired until you have a milky, yet still spreadable paste.
  7. Use this mixture on your face – ( I like to wet my face first) and clean in circles until your full face is covered.
  8. Wash off with warm water.
  9. Follow up with a creamy moisturizer.

Milk cream-oatmeal face pack for dry skin

Ingredients required:

  • Kaolin clay: 2 tablespoons
  • Milk cream: 4 tablespoons
  • Oatmeal: 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice: juice of half a lemon

Procedure:

  1. Take all the ingredients in the specified quantities in a clean container.
  2. Mix everything well until you achieve a face pack with a smooth texture and a medium consistency.
  3. Cleanse your face with a mild face wash at first.
  4. Pat dry your face with a clean towel.
  5. Take a generous amount of this pack on your face pack applicator.
  6. Apply it evenly all over your face and neck.
  7. Keep it on for about 20 minutes and wait for it to dry out completely.
  8. Dip a cotton ball in plain water.
  9. Squeeze out the excess and then wipe your face with it.
  10. Skip the toner.
  11. Follow up with a moisturizer.

Frequency:

  • Use this face once in a week to get an instant glow.

Milk-oatmeal-jasmine oil scrub to gently exfoliate sensitive skin

Ingredients required:

  • Raw honey: 1 tablespoon
  • Dried honey: 2 teaspoons
  • Dried milk powder: 1 tablespoon
  • White kaolin clay: 2 tablespoons
  • Baking soda: 1 tablespoon
  • Rolled oats: 2 tablespoons
  • Sandalwood essential oil: 2 drops
  • Lavender essential oil: 1 drop
  • Jasmine essential oil: 2 drops

Procedure:

  1. Add all the ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend it into a smooth, fine powder.
  3. Wipe your face with cotton petal dipped in micellar water to make sure that it is squeaky clean.
  4. Apply a thick layer of this face pack evenly all over your face and neck with a face pack applicator.
  5. Gently massage your skin with this scrub for a while in circular motions with a light hand in upward strokes.
  6. Splash some running tap water on your face to wash it off completely.
  7. Wipe your face clean.
  8. Apply your toner.
  9. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer.

  1. Take the peeled almonds and oats separate in a blender and blend well to make a fine powder with no coarse grains.
  2. After that transfer all the ingredients in a clean container.
  3. Mix it well until you achieve a face pack with a medium consistency.
  4. Make sure that your face is squeaky clean before applying this face pack.
  5. Take a generous amount of this pack on your face pack applicator.
  6. Apply it all over your face and neck.
  7. Keep it on until it starts to dry out.
  8. Now gently scrub it off from your face.
  9. Splash some running tap water to get rid of the remaining tiny chunks from your face.
  10. Spritz on a facial mist.
  11. Once it dries out, apply your favorite moisturizer to complete this skincare regime.

Ingredients required:

  • Whole rolled oats: 1 tablespoon
  • Full-fat milk: 2 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon powder: quarter teaspoon (optional)

Procedure:

  1. Take all the ingredients in the specified quantities in a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix everything properly until you achieve a face pack with a smooth-texture.
  3. Make sure that you cleanse your face with an oil-free cleanser.
  4. Wipe your face with a clean towel.
  5. Take a generous amount of this face pack on your applicator.
  6. Apply an even layer of this face pack all over your face and neck.
  7. Keep it on for about 20 minutes.
  8. Wash your face with lukewarm water.
  9. Pat dry your face with a towel.
  10. Follow up with a facial mist and a moisturizer to complete this skincare regime.

  • Raw, unprocessed milk: as much as required

  6. After that splash lukewarm water on your face to wash it off.
