DIY Turmeric Night Serum to Restore Complexion

Turmeric is all round skin care ingredient. The solution to the problem is applying turmeric at night and washing it off in the morning. There are no hassles and no waiting period. Just apply and go to sleep. Here are five turmeric serums which will give you brighter skin when you wake up in the morning.


Turmeric and Lemon

You Will Need:

  • 1 Teaspoon of Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Tablespoon of Lemon Juice

How To:

  1. Heat a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice over a water bath.
  2. Put a teaspoon of turmeric powder in the juice and mix them together to make a fine solution.
  3. Massage your face with this serum for about half an hour or so.
  4. Leave the paste overnight to settle down and seep into your skin.
  5. Wash your face with a mild cleanser in the morning and remove any remains of the oil.
  6. This homemade serum can be stored and used two times a week for better-looking and glowing skin.

Lemon juice is a natural bleaching agent and a rich source of citric acid. Both of these compounds are used heavily by cosmetic products to promise you an improvement in your skin complexion. Try this homemade remedy and decide which one suits you better.

Turmeric and Apple Cider Vinegar

You Will Need:

  • 1 Teaspoon of Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon of Raw Honey

How To:

  1. Mix equal amounts of turmeric powder and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl.
  2. Add a tablespoon of raw honey to the bowl. Mix all the ingredients together to make a smooth thick paste.
  3. Wash your face with lukewarm water to remove all the impurities and open up the pores.
  4. Gently spread this paste on your face and neck region. Massage in a circular motion to get the best exfoliation.
  5. Let the paste dry out overnight. You can put an old towel over your pillow to stop any drippings from ruining it.
  6. Wash off the dried paste in the morning and then follow up with a mild moisturizer.
  7. Repeat this process twice a week to get a naturally glowing skin.

This homemade face mask is one of the most effective remedies for brightening up your skin. The exfoliation properties of apple cider vinegar along with the turmeric make up a paste that eradicated dead skin cells and restores the skin’s complexion. You can also add some drops of lemon juice in the mixture for better results.

Turmeric Night Serum

Turmeric and Yogurt

You Will Need:

  • 1 Teaspoon of Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon of Yogurt
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of Avocado

How To:

  1. Cut an avocado in half and mash it with a spoon to get a smooth chunk-free paste.
  2. Add a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a tablespoon of yogurt to the mashed avocado and mix them together in a bowl.
  3. Now, spread a layer of this paste on your face. Cover your entire face but be careful around the eyes.
  4. Leave the paste as it is for 5-7 minutes to allow it to dry before going to bed.
  5. Wash your face in the morning to remove the dried paste. You might have to scrub the paste a little so that it comes off. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel.
  6. Use this paste two to three times a week to get the best results.

Avocado is full of fatty acids and natural oils which moisturize and cleanse your skin giving it a fairer complexion. Yogurt helps as well by providing VItamin B and citric acid to the equation which is known to make the skin brighter and improve its complexion.

Turmeric and Coconut Oil

You Will Need:

  • 1 Tablespoon of Ground Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon of Raw Honey.

How To:

  1. Melt a tablespoon of coconut oil.
  2. Make a mixture of raw honey and turmeric powder in a small bowl. Add the melted coconut oil while it’s still warm and make a thick paste of all the ingredients.
  3. Spread this paste on your washed face. You can also use a brush to apply this paste on your chin, forehead and under the eyes.
  4. This face mask dries quickly and should be left for a whole night to achieve the best results.
  5. Use cold water to rinse off the dried paste from your face. Take a damp towel and remove any dried bits and pieces that have strayed away from your face.
  6. Repeat this remedy twice a week to get glowing skin.

Coconut oil is an excellent ingredient for whitening your skin. It gets deep into the skin and removes any impurities or dead skin cells which are making your skin look darker than normal. You can cook up a big batch of this paste and keep it in the refrigerator for future use. It doesn’t get stale and has a high shelf life.


Turmeric Oil and Aloe Vera Gel

You Will Need:

  • 1 Tablespoon of Turmeric Oil
  • 4 Teaspoons of Aloe Vera Gel
  • 1 Teaspoon of Argan Oil

How To:

  1. Combine the aloe vera gel and turmeric oil in a small bowl.
  2. Add a teaspoon of argan oil to the bowl and then mix the ingredients together. You can put the mixture over a hot water bath for better emulsification.
  3. Let the oil mixture cool down to room temperature.
  4. Dip your fingers in the oil and then massage your face for about 10-15 minutes. Keep dipping your fingers in the serum at regular intervals.
  5. Don’t wash off the oil from your face. In fact, leave it as it is for a night to allow the skin to absorb it completely.
  6. Take cold water splashes in the morning to rinse off the serum from your face.
  7. Use this wonderful serum three to four times a week to restore the original complexion of your skin.

If you are unable to find turmeric oil on the market then it is very easy to make at home. Just heat some coconut oil and add turmeric paste to it. Mix the ingredients together over low heat for a few minutes and you have your turmeric oil ready. It is best if you use pure turmeric oil in these cases.
