How to Dye your Hair with Lemon Juice

How to prepare the natural color?

Lemon and Honey

  1. Take 3-4 fresh lemons.
  2. Run them between your palms to soften then and release the juices.
  3. Cut them and squeeze out the juice.
  4. Collect about ½ cup of lemon juice.
  5. To the lemon juice, add 1/4th cup of honey.
  6. Add the honey slowly and keep mixing while adding it.
  7. After preparing the lemon and honey solution, add 4-5 drops of tea tree oil to it.
  8. Mix well.
  9. Keep aside for application.

Lemon and Chamomile

  1. Take 3 tablespoons of fresh chamomile green tea leaves.
  2. Add them to 1 cup of water and keep boiling the water.
  3. Once the amount of water is reduced, let the tea leaves stay in the hot water until it gets completely cooled.
  4. Strain the lea.
  5. Add ½ cup of fresh lemon juice to it.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Keep aside for application.

How to apply the natural hair color?

  1. After preparing any one of the hair dyes, start working with your hair.
  2. Detangle your hair using a wide toothed comb. Make sure you get rid of all the hair knots.
  3. Divide your hair into smaller sections. This will help in spreading out the hair dye evenly.
  4. Take a spray bottle and fill it with water.
  5. Spritz your hair with water so that they are damp but not dripping wet.
  6. now using a hair dye brush, apply the prepared hair dye on each section.
  7. If you only want to lighten the ends of your hair, then simply pour the prepared hair dye in a wider dish and dip your hair ends in to the solution.
  8. Once your hairs are soaked in the lemon dye, massage it in.
  9. Now to activate the hair dye, simply sit out in the sun for 30 minutes. The heat will activate the hair dye and make it work much faster.
  10. Rinse your hair with plain water after this.

After care

  1. This treatment should be done on freshly washed hair.
  2. After removing or rinsing out the hair dye, you must not apply any shampoo.
  3. However, many may find that the lemon juice dries out their hair.
  4. To combat this dryness in the hair after the treatment, take ½ cup of aloe vera gel.
  5. Apply it on your hair liberally and let it get all absorbed.
  6. This will be very effective in making the hair soft and frizz free.

Lemon juice is excellent for actually dyeing the hair. It is important to note that lemon juice does not actually provide a wide range of colors to the hair. It has a hair lightening effect. This is because it has bleaching properties. This helps it in lightening the hair. Lemon juice has other benefits for the hair as well. It helps in absorbing all the excess sebum and oil from the scalp. It also helps in getting rid of dandruff and making the hair shiny.

Chamomile Tea

Chamomile tea has natural hair lightening properties and helps in making the hair soft and silky as well.

Honey

Honey is the moisturizing agent for the hair. Apart from this, it has small amounts of hydrogen peroxide in it which helps in lightening the hair. Honey make the hair soft and gets rid of dandruff as well.
