How to exfoliate skin with baking soda

Baking soda is a great natural ingredient to exfoliate our skin, it can easily remove top dead layer of skin. You can also use it for sensitive skin.


How to use baking soda to scrub your face:

Ingredients:

  • Baking soda
  • Facial cleanser that you use normally
  1. Add a teaspoon of the powder to your facial cleanser,
  2. Mix well,
  3. Massage into the skin like you would with a commercial exfoliant.
  4. Do this 2-3 times a week or as per your regular exfoliation routine.
  5. If your skin gets red, use less baking powder next time

Baking soda-honey face cleanser

Ingredients required:

  • Manuka honey: 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda: 1 teaspoon
  • Steam distilled rose water: half a teaspoon

  2. Splash some running tap water on your face.

  • Baking soda: 1 teaspoon
  • Apple cider vinegar: 1 teaspoon
  • Castile soap: 3 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice: half a teaspoon
  • Airtight container: 1
  • Towel: 1
  • Distilled water: 15 ml
  • Eucalyptus essential oil: 3 drops
  • Wide-toothed comb: 1

Procedure:

  1. Take an airtight container.
  2. Pour in all the ingredients in the specified quantities.
  3. Shake the container well to make sure everything gets mixed.
  4. Use this shampoo instead of your regular chemical based shampoo.

  • Brown sugar: 1 teaspoon

  1. Take the ingredients in a container.
  2. Keep mixing until the epsom salt dissolves completely.
  3. Pour water on your skin.
  4. Exfoliate your skin gently with this scrub.
  5. Make sure you take finely granulated sugar or else may cut through your skin.

Frequency:

  • You should be using this remedy 2 or 3 times in a week as it is highly beneficial for the skin. Aloe vera has potent skin improving components which nourish and protect the skin well. Moreover, aloe vera gel also has potent anti-inflammatory properties which help soothe the skin.

Note: Baking soda can be quite drying to the skin so it is not recommended to be used to dry skin unless it is highly diluted down. It’s drying and exfoliating properties actually make it quite an effective remedy to be used in the treatment of acne and pimples.
