How to get Glowing Skin in Summers

Drink plenty of water

Keeping the sin hydrated from within is extremely important. Using any kind of cosmetic product or remedy will only work marginally unless the skin is glowing from with. During summers, our skin tends to get dehydrated very easily. It is essential that you drink atleast7-8 glasses of water every day. You can also try preparing your own infused water which helps to keep you hydrated from within.

How to:

  1. Place 10 cucumber slices at the base of a jar.
  2. Add 3 slices of fresh orange.
  3. Add ½ cup of mint leaves.
  4. Fill the jar with cold water.
  5. Let it get infused for 1 hour.
  6. Pour some of this water into a glass and drink every hour.

How this helps:

This flavored water is highly refreshing and contains the entire healthy snack you may need. Mint and orange essence will keep you active throughout the day and will also add some vitamins and electrolytes to your water.

Use Detoxifying Face Masks


How to:

  1. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to 1teaspoon of fullers earth.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of rose water.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Apply on the face.
  5. Allow the face mask to dry up completely.
  6. Rinse off using plain water.

How this helps:

Fuller’s earth will help in absorbing all the dirt from the face and the pores. Lemon juice will help in having a brightening effect on the skin. It helps in making the skin look refreshed. This is because it helps in getting rid of the excess oils and also helps in removing sun tan.

How to:

  1. Add 1 tablespoon of curd to 1 tablespoon of orange peel powder.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Apply on the face.
  4. Allow the face mask to dry up completely.
  5. Rinse off using plain water.

How this helps:

Orange peel powder contains anti oxidants which help in making the skin look fresh. This makes will not only get rid of dullness but will also make the skin glow for a long period of time.

Use Hydrating Toners

Mint and Tea Tree Oil Toner

How to:

  1. Mix 1 teaspoon of tea tree essential oil with 4 tablespoons of aloe vera gel.
  2. Add 4-5 drops of mint essential oil.
  3. Pour this mixture into a spray bottle.
  4. Fill the rest of the bottle with rose water.
  5. Shake the bottle.
  6. Spray this toner on your face and dab the skin with a cotton ball.
  7. You need not wash your skin after this.
  8. Use this toner 2 times a day.

Use a Sunscreen when out in the Sun

Our skin needs protection against the harsh sunlight. The sunlight can actually tan our skin within a few minutes. The reason why the sun tan leaves our skin discolored is that as soon as the rays fall on our sin, our skin produces more pigment to protect itself. Sun tan can take weeks to fade away and continuous exposure to sunlight can lead to hyper pigmentation. This is why it is extremely important to wear a sunscreen when going out in the sun. This will not only protect the skin but will also reduce sun tan. Ideally, a sunscreen should be applied 20 minutes before going out in the sun so that it has time to get absorbed into the skin.
