Say no to hair problems with home made honey shampoo

By Glowpink Staff

No doubt homemade products are better than products available in the market as they are non-toxic and chemical-free and when it comes to hair you have to be extra careful before picking any product. For all types of hair and scalp, there is one single and best solution – homemade honey shampoo. It is an all in one solution. You don’t have to use any conditioner after this shampoo as it doesn’t harm your hairs.

Advantages of using Honey shampoo

  1. The pH of honey is 4 and the pH of the scalp is between 4 and 7. The slightly acidic nature of the honey balances the scalp and fights dandruff
  2. Raw honey is naturally antibacterial and antifungal, so honey washing can help treat bacterial/fungal issues on the scalp
  3. Honey won’t strip the scalp and hair of the protective oils. As a result, the hair will be less oily over time because the scalp will stop over-compensating with oil production (which happens when shampoos strip the scalp of all oils)
  4. Honey moisturizes the hair, and, since it doesn’t strip the hair of natural oils, the hair will be softer with less frizz
  5. You will be able to go longer and longer between washings as your scalps oil production normalizes. Now, I only need to wash my hair every 4 days (and I’ve even gone a week between washing)!

How to prepare Honey shampoo

To prepare Honey shampoo you need

  • Raw Honey
  • Water
  • Few drops of essential oil (if you have, this is not necessary)
  1. Mix 1 tablespoon of raw honey with 3 tablespoons of water.

No need to store it, you can always prepare this shampoo instantly

Generally, Honey shampoo works for all types but it may take time. When you switch to honey shampoo, you might feel that your hair are oily. It may even take a month or two for your scalp oil production to normalize when you switch from regular shampoo to honey washing. So for the first week, you may need to honey wash every day. Then you will find you can go every other day, then every second day, etc.

If you are not getting results even after two months, it means that honey shampoo is not for you.
