Smooth and glowing skin is a dream of every girl out there. This dream can be converted into reality using natural ingredients. One such ingredient is papaya fruit. Papaya has been named as the ‘angel fruit’ due to its amazing properties. It is a wholesome fruit as it is rich in source of vitamins, nutrients and minerals essential for healthy skin and body.
Papaya face masks:
Below are some papaya face masks which helps makes the skin smooth, clean and glowing.
1. Papaya and honey face mask:
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 teaspoons milk
- 1/2 cup of ripe papaya
Take one ripe papaya and cut it into small pieces and then mash them. In a bowl, add 1/2 cup of papaya pieces and then add 2 teaspoons milk and 1 tablespoon honey to it. Then combine the mixture well till it forms a smooth paste. Apply the paste all over the face and neck and keep it on for about 15 minutes. Then rinse it off with cold water. For better results, apply this paste twice a week.
Papaya and honey are known for their hydrating properties. Applying together will provide soft, supple and smooth skin. Milk reduces dark spots and scars and thus provide glowing skin.
2. Papaya, cucumber and banana face mask:
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1/4 cup of ripe banana pieces
- 1/4 cup of ripe papaya pieces
Cut the cucumber, banana and papaya into small pieces. In a bowl, mash cucumber, 1/4 cup of ripe banana pieces and 1/4 cup of ripe papaya pieces together. Then blend the mixture till it forms a smooth paste. Apply the mask all over the face and neck and let it dry for 15 minutes. Then rinse it off with warm water first and then do a final rinse with cold water. Apply this mask once a week to get effective results.
Cucumber soothes the skin and also evens out the skin tone. Banana contains healthy fats which keep the skin soft and moisturised. It also smoothens out wrinkles and makes the skin firm.
3. Papaya and orange face pack:
- 5-6 pieces of orange
- 1 ripe papaya
Take one ripe papaya and then chop it into small pieces. In a bowl, add 1 cup of ripe papaya pieces and then mash them. Then take 5-6 slices of orange and squeeze out juice from it. Then add orange juice to the mashed papaya and blend it properly till it forms a smooth paste. Then apply the paste all over the face and neck. Keep it on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off using water. Repeat the process twice a week.
Orange works as a natural astringent to the skin and removes excess oil from the face. Papaya and orange juice both contains skin brightening properties in it. These properties work well on blemishes and scars and make the skin clean and pure.
Points to remember:
- Don’t add milk to the face mask if one is allergic to the dairy products.
- Make fresh face masks every time before applying it on the face.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for a few hours after applying face masks which are made using citrus fruits or fresh juice.
