How to prepare face mask at home

Many types of face masks are available in the market and many of them are very effective but if you want you can also prepare face masks at home.

Use the below steps to prepare face masks

  • For any type of skin: use plain honey; it has both moisturizing and antibacterial properties great for any skin.
  • For oily skin: mix 1 teaspoon cosmetic clay and 1 tablespoon honey – Mix cosmetic clay with honey, also add a small amount of water until the correct consistency is achieved. Consistency should be like homemade yogurt
  • For normal skin: mix 1 tablespoon yogurt and 1 tablespoon honey
  • For dry skin: mix 1/2 mashed banana and 1 tablespoon honey

When preparing face masks at home, make sure you use a plastic utensil and bag (or bowl), do not use any metal.

Applying a face pack once in a while is a great way to pamper your skin. If you also forgot to book an appointment to the salon just like me then don’t panic. You can just apply any of these face packs depending on your skin to rejuvenate your skin cells from the inside.

Orange-red clay face pack

Ingredients required:

  •  Red clay powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Orange peel powder: half a teaspoon
  • Raw turmeric powder: Just a pinch of it
  • Manuka honey: half a teaspoon
  • Rose water: 4 Teaspoons
  • Face pack applicator: 1
  • Wet towel: 1

Procedure:

  1. Add all the ingredients in a container.
  2. Whisk it well.
  3. Clean your face with a mild facial cleanser.
  4. Follow up with a scrub if required.
  5. Take a generous amount of this face pack and apply it all over your face and neck with the help of a face pack applicator.
  6. Keep it for about 20 minutes.
  7. Rinse off with cold water.
  8. Pat dry your face with a clean towel.
  9. Apply a moisturizer afterwards.

Frequency:

  • Apply this face mask once in a month to get the best results.

Multani mitti-mint face pack

Ingredients required:

  • Freshly ground mint leaf paste; 2 teaspoons
  • Multani mitti: half a cup
  • Rose water: 2 tablespoons
  • Aloe vera gel: 1 teaspoon
  • Face pack applicator: 1

Procedure:

  1. Clean your face with a mild cleanser.
  2. Spritz on a facial mist and while it dries out to make this face pack.
  3. Add all the ingredients in a container and mix it well to form a thick paste.
  4. Apply this face pack all over your face with the help of a face pack brush.
  5. Keep it on for 30 minutes.
  6. Rinse off with cold water.
  7. Apply a toner.
  8. Finish your skincare regime by slathering on a thick layer of moisturizer.

Frequency:

  • Apply this face pack twice a week for the best results.

Frangipani flower face pack

Ingredients required:

  • Dried frangipani petal powder: 2 tablespoons
  • Gram flour: 1 tablespoon
  • Milk cream: 3 tablespoons
  • Rosemary essential oil: 2 drops
  • Face pack applicator: 1

Procedure:

  1. At first, add all the dry ingredients in a container and mix it well.
  2. Then add milk cream and whisk it into a paste, break all the lumps.
  3. Add rosemary essential oil.
  4. Spritz on some rose water before applying this face pack.
  5. Apply this face pack evenly all over your face.
  6. Keep it on for about 30 minutes.
  7. Let it dry out completely.
  8. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
  9. Apply aloe vera gel when you are done.

Frequency:

  • Apply this face pack twice in a week to get the best results.

Banana and Yogurt Face Mask

Ingredients required:

  • Banana: 1 of it
  • Honey: 1 tbsp
  • Yogurt: 2 tbsp

Procedure:

  1. First of all, peel a banana and then mash it to obtain a pulpy paste.
  2. Then, take the mashed banana in a mixing bowl and add the other ingredients in it too.
  3. After that, combine all the ingredients together well by stirring and whisking.
  4. Then, apply the obtained mask all over your face or skin.
  5. Lastly, leave the mask on your skin for about half an hour before rinsing it off using cold water and you are done!

  • You can use this face mask a couple of times in a week to make your skin softer and smoother.

Egg, Lemon and Honey Face Mask

Ingredients required:

  • Egg: 1 of it
  • Honey: as needed
  • Lemon juice: as needed

Procedure:

  1. First of all, crack open an egg and take it in a mixing bowl. If you have dry skin, take just the yolk, and if you have oily skin then just take the white. Then beat the egg for a couple of minutes.
  2. Then, add the other ingredients to the mixing bowl too.
  3. After that, combine all the ingredients together well by stirring and whisking.
  4. Then, apply the obtained mask all over your face or skin.
  5. Lastly, leave the mask on your skin for about half an hour before rinsing it off using normal water and you are done!

  • Turmeric powder: 1 tsp
  • Manuka honey: 1 tbsp

  1. First of all, take all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix them properly together with each other by stirring them together vigorously.
  2. Then, apply the obtained mask all over your face or skin.
  3. Lastly, leave the mask on your skin for about 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it off using tepid water and you are done!

  • You can use this face mask a couple of times in a week to make your skin better and healthier and better looking as well.
