It is obvious that a bride-to-be will want to look her ultimate best on her wedding day no matter what. There are large possibilities that she may even make various appointments with a beautician until her wedding day. There are certain bridal beauty regimes that you can follow one month prior to your wedding to look even more gorgeous on your wedding day. The renowned beauty expert Shahnaz Husain has revealed some of the best bridal beauty tips that you can follow. With more than 25 years of experience in the beauty and health industry, she has been reigning the industry like a queen. There are some beauty tips below that needs to be followed at least 1 month prior to your wedding day while some of the tips are strictly for your wedding day itself.

Before the wedding, it is important that you prepare your skin well in advance in order to have your wedding day makeup stand out. The application of makeup alone will not provide you with the wedding glow you want. There are genuine skin care and beauty regimens that needs to be followed which includes cleansing, nourishing and moisturizing among many others.

Here are a few primary yet essential beauty tips by Shahnaz Husain for brides to look their very best on their D-Day:

BEFORE THE WEDDING DAY

  • Cleansing for glowing skin

Cleansing your skin is a very crucial aspect of any beauty regimen for it to be truly successful. When you cleanse your skin, you end up opening your skin pores which leads to any dirt hiding there to be cleansed. When your pores are clean and open, they can easily absorb skin creams and lotions into your skin which end up giving you a radiant glow. Cleanse your skin every day before you go to bed and rinse it well with lukewarm water. Honey and lemon are great cleansing ingredients that can be found at home.

  • Take care of your skin around the eyes

As you may know, eyes are the windows to the soul. And that is why Shahnaz Husain stresses more on taking care of the skin around your eyes. Wrinkles or fine lines around your eyes has the chance to make you look old and tired. As a bride, you should immediately start pampering the skin surrounding your eyes. For this, you can use almond oil. Take some almond oil in a small bowl and soak a cotton ball or cotton pad in it. With the soaked cotton pad or ball, gently wipe your undereye area and massage too. Leave it for overnight and wash it off with cool water in the morning.

  • Skin toning with rose water

Skin toning should start at least six months before the wedding day in order to get a natural pinkish glow to your skin. To keep your skin moist and nourished and overall glowing, soak a cotton ball with chilled rose water and apply it to your face gently. Let it dry on its own. You can use rose water irrespective of your skin type as it works for all.

  • Take care of lips using almond or coconut oil

Many environmental factors are the major cause of dry or chapped lips. Obviously, you would not want such dry or chapped lips on your most important special day. Nourish your lips with almond or coconut oil regularly to get glowing, healthy lips. Do this daily before bed.

  • Be smart about your hair

Hair is another important part of your bridal beauty regimen. You must provide equal care for your hair just like you would for your skin. Make sure to deeply condition your hair properly and also shampoo it well. Never make any big or radical changes like bleaching it or coloring it or trying out a new haircut, right before your wedding day.  Also, keep your hair safe from being exposed to hot temperature. Shahnaz Husain advises that you stop using styling machines for a few months before the wedding.

  • Relieve mental stress and tension

It is common that you may be stressed or filled with tension before the wedding. But this stress can impact your skin by making it dull and wrinkled. Ensure that you do not sick yourself due to this tension. Try out some activities like jogging, meditating, walking to relieve this stress. This will ensure it that you are mentally strong on the day of your wedding.

ON THE WEDDING DAY

  • Foundation and compact

Shahnaz Husain commends to using a water-based,oil-free lightweight foundation to get a sheer matte finish. Use a damp sponge to evenly apply it all over your face. After this is done, she advises to use a compact powder to set the foundation base. Avoid using loose powder as they often cannot be applied uniformly. Using a compact powder instead will uniform your skin tone as well as control your skin’s oil secretion too.

  • Blush

After the foundation and compact base is set, it’s time to use the blush for the blushing bride. Shahnaz Husain recommends using pastel shades for highlighting your cheekbones to give it a natural highlight. The light pastel color of the blush will give you a soothing appearance and make you look ethereal by giving you a healthy glow to your face.

  • Eyeshadow

Eye makeup is very essential for a bride. Cover your eyelids with a light colored eyeshadow. Bronze, gold, and silver are the most evergreen and most used colors used for brides. Avoid very bright colored eyeshadows.

  • Eye liner

First apply a thick line of eyeliner on your upper lid, making sure that it is close to the lash line. Smudge it slightly and apply again. At the corner of your eyes, extend the liner slightly upwards and then outwards. And now, apply the liner on your lower eyelid right below the lower lash. Always use a long-lasting, waterproof eyeliner for your wedding day.

  • Mascara

Mascara is a must for any bride as it volumizes your lashes. Curl the lashes upwards and apply two coats of volumizing mascara to get gorgeous eyelashes on your wedding day. Shahnaz Husain strictly suggests using a waterproof mascara to avoid smudging.

  • Lipstick

Wear a daring shade of red on your lips to make it look luscious and classy. Select a natural red or plum,  cherry or rose-colored lipstick that matches your wedding attire. Always use a lip liner to outline and give definition to your lips. And then fill it with the color of your choice. Make sure that the lip liner and lipstick shades match each other. Shahnaz Husain advises on using water-resistant lip color for brides.
