Turmeric iced tea:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1-inch fresh ginger (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon organic turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons organic green tea leaves
  • Lemon juice
  • Honey (as per taste)

How to prepare?

Turn on the stove and put the vessel on a low flame. Add 2 cups of water to the vessel and let it boil. Once the water starts boiling add 1 tablespoon turmeric powder, 1 peeled and grated ginger, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder (cinnamon stick can also be used instead). Then let all the ingredients dissolve completely. After this add 1 tablespoon green tea leaves (dried). In case you are using fresh green tea leaves then add 2 tablespoons. Let it simmer for few minutes on low flame only.

Once the boiling part is over, turn off the flame. Let it cool and then strain it using a strainer or a soft white cloth (clean). Then pour the iced tea into a container and put it in the fridge until it is chilled. Before putting the container into the fridge, make sure that the iced tea is not hot. If you put the iced tea hot, you will notice a difference in taste later.

At the time of serving, pour the iced tea into a glass and then add the juice of a half-lemon into it. Stir this mixture well. Lemon juice can be avoided as it is not necessary to add it. You can also garnish the glass with the fresh lemon and orange slices. Then add honey as per taste which will give you a sweet and refreshing taste. At last, add 2-3 ice cubes and the chilled natural turmeric iced tea would be ready to serve.
