Tamanu oil for skin

Tamanu oil is the latest fad in makeup as of now. This amazing oil has impressive healing properties and helps in the treatment of other skin problems such as acne, scars, reduce inflammation, rosacea, stretch marks, age spots, eczema along with other treatments such as prevents cancer, speeds up the healing process, lowers pain levels, fights fungal infections and boosts the immune systems and more. Tamanu oil has proved to be a valuable essential as a part of your routine skin regime and here are the different ways this oil works wonder on your skin.


  • Fading stretch marks

Studies have disclosed that regular usage of tamanu oil helps in the decreasing of the size of your stretch marks. With its cell renewal and regenerating properties, tamanu oil is known to fade away your stretch marks. One of the remedies you can try is:

-8 teaspoons of tamanu oil

-4 drops of lavender oil

-4 drops of myrrh essential oil

-4 drops of cedarwood oil (optional)

-mix the above ingredients and apply it on affected areas. Use daily to get the desired results.

  • Treating acne

Tamanu oil is equipped with beneficial inhibitory effect on bacterial growth, especially the ones causing acne. Its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties greatly help your skin to fight off acne and heal it from within.

-2 drops of tamanu oil

-1 drop of tea tree essential oil

-On a cotton ball or a q-tip, add the above oils and dab it on the acne infested areas each night. Wash your face with a good cleanser the next morning. Do this daily to see visible results.

  • Soothes rashes

Tamanu oil can be used for any kind of skin rashes and eruptions due to its antibacterial, anti-itch and anti-inflammatory properties. Pure tamanu oil is most commonly used to treat and soothe rashes as it has surpassing healing properties and thus, helps to promote new skin tissues by speeding up the healing process of the skin.

-5 drops of tamanu oil

-2 drops of tea tree oil

-2 drops of coconut oil

-Taking a cotton ball, place the above oils on it and dab your rashes with the same to heal them. Ensure that you do this after a shower to remove any dirt or layers on the rash.

  •  Heals dry skin

Tamanu oil has great moisturizing properties which help to soothe and heal dry skin. The oil’s moisturizing properties along with its antioxidant properties can be easily and quickly absorbed by the skin leading to re-growth of new skin cells and moisture from within.

-2 teaspoon of tamanu oil

-1/4th cup of avocado oil

-Combine the two oils and put them either in a spray bottle or a dropper bottle. Apply over your damp skin before bed every night.

  • Offers sun protection

Too much exposure to the sun’s UV rays can cause immense damage to your skin to the point where it may lose its elasticity or be highly pigment. Such damages lead to the loss of firmness of the skin, which overall leads to wrinkles and blemishes. Luckily, tamanu oil as UV protectant properties which can offer you protection from the sun.

-1 or 2 drops of tamanu oil

-Apply a thin layer of this oil over your body and especially your face whenever you go out in the sun. And then apply your usual sunscreen.
