Tone and tighten pores with vinegar

Open and large pores are the common problem these days. It can be caused due to humidity, stress, hot summer, pollution, lack of skin care etc. All this can open and enlarge the pores which make the pores visible gradually. There are no commercial or skin care products which can vanish or shrink the pores completely. Commercial products are harmful to the skin as they are fully loaded with chemicals. Using natural ingredients for the skin and to tighten the pores would be more beneficial. Vinegar is one amazing ingredient which has the powerful capacity of shrinking and tightening the pores. It makes the skin clear and flawless.


Ways of using vinegar to tone and tight the pores:

There are certain ways in which vinegar can be beneficial to the skin. Vinegar is safe and cheap to use. The methods are as follows:

1. Vinegar toner

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/4 cup of white vinegar
  • One spray bottle
  • 1 teaspoon of witch hazel

Method:

In a bowl, add a half cup of water (one can also be distilled water if possible). Distilled water is safer for the skin. Then add 1/4 cup of white vinegar or apple cider vinegar (whichever is available). Apple cider vinegar is more beneficial as it works best for the skin and skin related problems.

Then mix both the ingredients well till it forms a proper consistency. Then add 1 teaspoon of witch hazel to the mixture and mix all the ingredients well. Then pour the mixture into the spray bottle using a funnel. The natural toner is ready to use.

Shake the bottle well before every use and use it regularly as a skin toner. Store the bottle in the refrigerator only. Sprinkle the mixture on the face every day in the morning, it will tone the skin naturally and will make the skin look fresh and clean.

Vinegar contains potassium which keeps the skin hydrated and clear from zits. It works as a natural astringent which tightens the skin and clog the pores. It also reduces inflammation caused due to acne. Witch hazel is a natural astringent made using natural ingredients like essential oils and safrole. It is made from the leaves of witch hazel shrub, the leaves have certain properties in it which can be effective in shrinking the pores. It is the safest ingredient for the skin.

2. Vinegar and tomato facial mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 fresh tomato
  • 1 tablespoon of white vinegar

Method:

Take one fresh tomato and cut it into medium-sized pieces. Then add the pieces of tomato in a mixer and blend the tomato till it forms a smooth pury. Then add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar or apple cider vinegar to the paste. Mix the paste well and pour the mixture into a bowl.

Then wash and clean the face with water and then apply the mixture all over the face as a face mask. Avoid applying mask on the area of eyes and eyebrows. Then let the mask set on the face for 15-20 minutes and wash it off using water. Use lukewarm water to wash the face, lukewarm water shrink the open pores.

Repeat the procedure three times a week to get the best possible results. Always make fresh paste before applying it on the face. Always apply moisturizer or cream on the face after using the mixture which prevents dryness.

Tomato ia natural acidic vegetable which works best as the natural astringent. It shrink and clog the pores and gives the natural glow to the skin. Apple cider vinegar also works as a astringent and reduces the formation of acne and pimples which open the pores.

3. Vinegar and green tea toner

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 4-5 drops of essential oils
  • 3/4 cup pf brewed green tea
  • One spray bottle

Method:

Turn on the gas stove and put one vessel on it. Add 2-3 cups of water to the vessel and let the water boil for few minutes. Then turn off the gas and place the boiled water in a bowl and drop 3 bags of green tea to it. Then let it sit until cool. Remove the tea bags and squeeze the excess water from the tea bag.

Take another empty bowl, and add 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar and 3/4 cup of brewed green to it. Stir the mixture well. Then add 4-5 drops of any essential oil (any of the favorite essential oil). Tea tree oil is more preferable as it is good for the skin and skin related problems. Then again stir the mixture well and pour the mixture into a spray bottle using funnel.

Apply the toner to the skin using cotton ball or pad, leave it for minutes and then wash it with normal water. One can also keep it overnight and then rinse it off in the morning. Apply the toner all over the face, avoiding the eye area. Repeat the process twice a day for better results. Store the bottle in a refrigerator and shake the bottle before every use.

When it comes to skin and health, using green tea is highly beneficial. Green tea acts as an astringent and helps to reduce the production of sebum which causes acne. Tea tree essential oil has certain anti-bacterial and antiviral properties in it which kills the bacteria and virus that causes acne.

Benefits of vinegar for toning and tightening the pores:

  1. Vinegar contains the high amount of acetic acid in it which works great for the skin. It works as an natural astrigent for the skin and also maintains pH balance that tightens the pores.
  2. Vinegar has an inhibitory effect against bacteria, it kills the bacteria and germs which can cause acne. Thus, it keeps the skin in top condition.
  3. Vinegar unclogs the pores and prevents acne and blackheads, so that the pores doesn’t get enlarged.
  4. Vinegar works best as astringent which close the open pores after steaming.

Points to remember:

  1. Avoid applying the vinegar on the face when the skin is dry or have pimple. Vinegar can cause irritation and itching to the skin.
  2. Don’t apply vinegar directly on the face, mix it with some essential oil or tomato so that it doesn’t harm the skin.
  3. Don’t squeeze or poke acne, as it enlarges the pores.
  4. Don’t use cleansers which have irritating ingredients like menthol or excessive fragrance.
