As title of this post says, Colgate for skin whitening !! Do you really believe it is possible?
Just look for logic behind this statement, Colgate has key ingredient fluoride, that can’t make your skin fairer and do nt have any anti-bacterial properties, so it is a complete myth
Colgate can’t make your skin fairer, and It also can’t treat your acne
But I will not disappoint you. There are many natural DIYs that can help you to lighten your skin complexion
First is with licorice powder
Licorice, also known as Mulethi, contains a compound called glabridin, which helps to inhibit the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin darkening. Here’s a DIY recipe that you can try using licorice powder for skin whitening
Ingredients:
- Licorice Root Powder – 1 tablespoon
- Honey – 1 tablespoon (has moisturizing and antibacterial properties)
- Lemon Juice – 1 teaspoon (contains Vitamin C, which helps in skin brightening)
- Yogurt – 2 tablespoons (contains lactic acid, which helps exfoliate and brighten skin)
- Turmeric (optional) – 1 pinch (for additional brightening and anti-inflammatory benefits)
Instructions:
- Mix Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the licorice powder, honey, lemon juice, yogurt, and optional turmeric until a smooth paste forms.
- Apply: Using clean fingers or a brush, apply the mask evenly across your face and neck.
- Leave on for 15-20 minutes: Let the mask sit on your skin but don’t allow it to dry completely.
- Rinse Off: Gently rinse the mask off with lukewarm water, followed by a splash of cold water to close your pores.
- Moisturize: Apply your favorite moisturizer afterward to seal in the hydration.
Second DIY is with Potato juice
Potato juice is rich in natural enzymes and vitamin C, making it an excellent ingredient for skin brightening and reducing hyperpigmentation. It helps to lighten dark spots, reduce acne scars, and brighten the overall complexion. Here’s a simple DIY skin whitening recipe using potato juice
Ingredients:
- Potato – 1 medium-sized (for fresh juice)
- Lemon Juice – 1 teaspoon (optional, for extra brightening)
- Honey – 1 tablespoon (to add moisture)
- Aloe Vera Gel – 1 tablespoon (for soothing and hydrating)
Instructions:
- Peel the potato and grate it.
- Squeeze the grated potato through a clean cloth or sieve to extract the juice. You can also blend the potato and strain the juice.
- In a bowl, combine the fresh potato juice with honey and aloe vera gel. If your skin tolerates lemon, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to the mix.
- Stir until it forms a smooth, slightly runny paste.
- Use a cotton ball or clean fingers to apply the mixture to your face and neck, focusing on areas with dark spots or uneven skin tone.
- Let the mask dry and work on your skin. Avoid the eye area as potato juice and lemon can be a bit harsh for sensitive areas.
- Wash off the mask with lukewarm water, followed by a cold splash to close your pores.
- Follow up with a light moisturizer to lock in the hydration and protect your skin
