Top beauty tips for every woman

By Glowpink Staff

“A thing of beauty is a joy forever”, I am sure most of you have come across this line at some point in your life. Well, let’s face it ladies, who do not want to retain a youthful glow for a lifetime? All of us desire to look our best around the clock and put in an effort to dress up and take care of our skin. However, sometimes its good to abide by certain protocols to get good skin. In this article, I have listed down a few skincare tips for your convenience:

  • Don’t sunbathe or use a sun-bed – you’ll regret it when you are older!
  • Use the right regime that suits your skin type – generally the older you are the more complex the routine and the richer the product.
  • Follow the golden rule and cleanse in your teens, moisturize in your twenties,
exfoliate in your thirties and use a night cream in your forties.
  • Start a beauty regime now – the earlier you start the easier it is to maintain.
  • Choose a regime that reflects your lifestyle. For example, if you spend a lot of time outside be sure you always use UV ray protective moisturizer.

  • K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) – you don’t need to pile on all your beauty products every day.
  • Don’t smoke – even if cancer doesn’t worry you – wrinkles result from smoking too (especially around the lip line).
  • Avoid very hot water when washing your face – the blood vessels will eventually stop trying to keep pace with the change and your skin’s natural lipids will get washed away more easily.
  • Exercise your facial muscles regularly by smiling – you’ll also look more attractive.
  • Don’t apply make-up every day. It is better to cure and not cover up blemishes and pesky pimples.
  • Drink water and stay hydrated. Your body should be well hydrated if you want healthy, glowing skin.
  • Include fresh fruits, legumes and green vegetables in your diet if you want a subtle glow on your skin.
  • Remove your make up before hitting the bed or else your skin will age 7 times faster.
  • Use a primer, it is very important to use a primer while doing makeup, as it makes sure that the make-up products stick to the skin and also creates a thin barrier between your skin make up so that open pores do not get infected easily.
  • Splash cold water on your face twice daily, once after waking up and once before hitting the bed to prevent sagging skin.
  • Use the skincare products in accordance with your skin type, always conduct a patch test before applying anything on your face if you have sensitive skin.
  • Use a sunscreen lotion with SPF, PA+++ and helioplex complex for complete protection from the UV rays of the sun.
  • Don’t forget to reapply your sunscreen lotion every 2-3 hours or you can spritz on some sunscreen spray to apply it without spoiling your make-up.
  • Use a sunscreen lotion even when you are indoors.
  • Always carry an umbrella in the summers and cover your face with a scarf for an added layer of protection.
  • Use a toner, many of us tend to skip the toner and use a moisturizer. Never do this again, apply a toner after cleansing your face to neutralize the pH of your skin and then apply a moisturizer at last.
  • Stay away from processed food and stick to simple home-made meals if you want good skin texture.
  • Exfoliate your face once in a while to keep it clean and healthy.
  • Use a face pack only once in a week or else your skin will become dry and flaky in the long-run.
  • Never use essential oils directly on your face, always use it with your diffuser or in a face pack in small amounts so that it does not burn down your skin.
  • Go for a professional clean up once in a month to look your best throughout the month.
  • Do not stay in the bathtub for too long or else it will make your skin saggy.
  • Stay away from all electrical devices that claim to make you beautiful, do your anti-aging massage with finger-tips.
  • Change your pillow cover at least once in a week, we often get pimples, skin creases and tiny zits and bumps on the face because of dirty pillow covers.
  • Have tender coconut water right after waking up to keep your skin hydrated throughout the day.
  • Check the expiry date of the product on the label before slathering it on your skin.
  • Cut down sugar consumption, especially if you are about to hit your thirties, to retain that youthful glow.
  • Do not compromise with your beauty sleep, sleep for at least 7-9 hours every day, do meditation to calm down your mind to enjoy an uninterrupted sound sleep.
  • Clip your nails and do not touch your face often as the germs may infect open pores and lead to pimples and severe acne in the long-run.
  • Don’t consume too much oily food, you literally become what you eat at the end of the day.
  • Do not apply the lipstick directly on your lips if they are severely chapped, especially during the winters.
  • Along with your face your lips also need intensive care and nourishment, so use a lip scrub, apply a lip balm and also slather on a thick layer of sunscreen lotion on your lips to prevent UV ray damage.
  • You should also take good care of your hair to look your best, oil your hair once in a week to keep the hair follicles nourished from within and prevent breakage.
  • Use a heat protectant spray before using hair styling tools to minimize the damage caused by excess heat from styling every now and then.
  • Just like your skincare products, select the hair care products that are suitable for your scalp and hair type.
  • Comb your hair every day to make sure your locks are detangled or else it will lead to breakage and hair loss due to pulling and tugging, however, do not comb your hair more than twice a day too much or else it will harm your scalp.
  • Never sleep with any hair accessories.
