Cracked heels are often considered only as a cosmetic issue but if you have deep cracks, they might be indicator to more serious problems. Major reason that are claimed to cause cracked feet are malnutrition, dehydration, skin diseases like eczema, psoriasis, and in some cases diabetes and thyroid issues too.
This is an easy and inexpensive DIY remedy to soften and sooth your heels and feet.
For this therapy you will need following things:
- A large bowl/ container (large enough to soak your feet it)
- Pumice stone
- Coconut oil
- Your skin moisturizer
- Warm water
Fill the 2/3 container with warm water. Water should be hot, Luke warm water will not be effective. Now rub a good amount of vinegar on your feet and add some vinegar in warm water, and soak your feet in it for next 15 to 20 minutes. After that scrub your feet gently with pumice stone, don’t let your feet dry while scrubbing, do it on wet feet.
After scrubbing, soak your feet for 5 more minutes. Then Dry it using a towel. Once your feet are dry apply a thick coat of Coconut oil and let it rest for 20 minutes at least. Once the oil is absorbed, cover it with a layer of your moisturizer.
Do this 3 times a week and you will get crack free bay soft skin on your feet.
