Whisk the egg yolk with the lemon juice in a bowl. Add the organic honey, olive oil and cinnamon powder to this mixture and mix the components well. Apply this blended mixture to your hair in massaging movements. Cover your head completely with a shower cap to avoid any spillage. Leave the mask on for at least one hair. Wash it off with an organic shampoo.

Cinnamon and honey mask to lighten hair

Ingredients needed:

  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil (for extra hydration)


This is one of the easiest and most sweet-smelling solutions to naturally lighten hair and bring out to-die-for highlights. Mix all the above ingredients together in a bowl. Ensure that it is mixed properly and no clumps can be found. Add a bit of conditioner if the mixture is too thick. When you mix honey and cinnamon together, the trace amounts of hydrogen peroxide in honey gets activated by the cinnamon powder. And when this same mixture sits on your hair long enough, it can lighten your hair up to two shades. Let the mixture sit for half an hour to properly activate the hydrogen peroxide present in the honey. After the time has passed, apply the mixture thoroughly to your hair and wear a shower cap after the application. Leave the mask on for at least four hours. To get better results, you can let it sit overnight and wash it off the next morning.

Cinnamon hair mist

In a vessel, take 2 cups of water and add 3 tablespoons of cinnamon powder to it. Bring the water to boil and let it simmer until it is reduced by half. Let it cool. Then, strain and pour this water into a spray bottle. Use this as a hair mist to be used before hair wash or as a texturizing hairspray. This hair mist will gradually lighten your hair.
