If any of you think that you are having an estrogen deficiency, your first step should be consulting your doctor. This is a delicate matter and you cannot willy nilly start with estrogen supplements and stuff. Foods which have phytoestrogens are a natural source and good for the body anyway but do not go overboard with them. Your doctor will usually prescribe some tests to verify your hormone levels. If your body does have a deficiency of estrogen or any other hormone, your doctor will know the best way for you going forward. You can consult them about your diet and should you and how much estrogen rich foods should you include in your diet.   9. Hey guys, awesome post on estrogen and foods which can help enhance your estrogen levels if you are struggling with it. I also have a couple tips to help manage your estrogen levels if you feel like they are getting low. You can drink herbal teas to help enhance your estrogen levels. Some herbs which can help increase your estrogen levels are red clover, hops, licorice, alfalfa, verbena, thyme, and saw palmetto. Just steep any of these herbs in your tea to harness their estrogen enhancing benefits. You do not need to do it for too long. Just steep for about 5 minutes and that should be enough.

But gals, be careful to only try to increase your estrogen levels only if you have an estrogen deficiency. You can learn about some estrogen deficiency symptoms to get an idea but definitely consult your physician if you do think that you have an estrogen deficiency. I am saying this because your body can have too much estrogen too and it is also quite harmful and dysfunctional for the body. This is really important, if you feel like you have symptoms of estrogen deficiency, first thing you should do is see your doctor and ask him to take some tests to check the estrogen levels in your body. Then only you should go ahead with trying to increase your hormone levels if there is a deficiency.

However, all the glands, systems and function inside your body are inextricably linked with one another; So you need to have many of your body systems thoroughly checked. This way, by the process of elimination, you can pinpoint your problem. A good place to start would be taking a hair test. That will inform you about any nutrient deficiency or excess in your body. After that, you should have your thyroid checked and then you should get your pituitary, adrenals, and female hormone profile checked and analyzed. You will need to go to a specialized test center where they have these facilities and where they could also break down the results and explain what the real problem is and how to rectify it.   23. @Rhonda – Your hormone levels need time to get back to normal levels as they are recalibrating after a miscarriage. That may take a bit of time, it would take a few months before they reach their normal levels, generally about 3 to 6 months but could be more too. To get your hormone into their normal cycle quickly just follow a healthy lifestyle and avoid stressors and unhealthy habits at all costs. A miscarriage is very taxing on a woman’s body and reproductive system and not to say anything about the mental state. So, you should take it easy and be kind to yourself. That is why estrogen therapy is used on people suffering from baldness, even men too. Sufficient levels of estrogen in the body curbs hair fall while also promoting hair growth. But you should not just start consume this hormone. Certainly consult your doctor to get educated advice on what the best way to proceed is. Because estrogen is a significant and strong hormone for the body and can also lead to severe unintended consequences so definitely get medical advice from your doctor first before moving ahead with any sort of hormone therapy for anything.   33. @ Nettie Briggs – Phytoestrogen from foods does not actually increase the estrogen levels, instead they mimic the functions of estrogen in the body and take their place in the receptors. That is because of their molecular structure. There is not much known about this phenomenon and more research is certainly needed in this field. For instance, in Asian countries people consume much more phytoestrogens than Americans but their breast cancer rates are much lower. So, the effects are not fully understood, but you should not give up healthy veggies like broccoli over that. Just do everything in moderation and have regular checkups at the doctor and you will be fine. I think 😀
