While fairness creams and treatment entered the market pretty late, it was ubtans which was trusted for skin fairness in ancient times.

Ubtan brightens the skin while removing the impurities of the skin.

In this video, I will be sharing my top 3 Ubtan recipe which will help in making the skin glowing and fair.
These will also work to lighten dark spots and pigmentation.

Mask-1

Things you will need to make your ubtan mask are:

1 Tbsp sandalwood powder

2 Tbsp besan

½ Tbsp turmeric powder and

2 Tbsp milk

Take a clean glass bowl, add sandalwood powder, besan, turmeric powder and milk in it.

Mix well to make a paste.

Cleanse your face using a mild cleanser and pat the skin dry.

Apply this ubtan mix on your face and let it 15-20 minutes.

Use plain water to rinse the mask off.

Refrain from using soap cleanser on it.

Use this recipe 2-3 times in a week for best results.

Mask-2

Things you will need to make this ubtan mask are:

2 tbsp of red lentil powder

2 tbsp of gram flour

2 tbsp of sandalwood powder

3-4 drops rose water

2 tbsp of beetroot juice and

1-2 tbsp of yoghurt

Mix red lentils, gram flour, sandalwood powder, beetroot juice and yoghurt in a bowl.

Cleanse your face using a mild cleanser and pat the skin dry.

Apply this ubtan on your face and gently massage for 1 minute.

Let it sit till it dries.

Use lukewarm water to rinse the mask off.

Use this ubtan thrice every week for bright skin.

Mask-3

Things you will need to make this ubtan mask are:

1 teaspoon neem powder

3 teaspoon chickpea flour

2 teaspoon sandalwood powder

1/4 spoon turmeric powder

2 teaspoon grated cucumber

Take a clean bowl, add neem powder, chickpea flour, sandalwood powder, turmeric powder and grated cucumber in it.

Mix all the ingredients really well.

Apply this ubtan on your face and massage for 1-2 minutes using a circular motion.

Let it sit for half an hour.

Rinse it off using lukewarm water and pat the skin dry.

Use this remedy twice a week for best results.

Causes of Dark Spots and Pigmentation

#1. Sun Damage

Sun damage is the most common cause of all kinds of skin damage.

To protect the skin from the UV rays, the skin produces more melanin, causing dark spots.

All you have to do to prevent spots due to the sun is wear a generous amount of sunblock.

#2. Hormonal Changes

Hormones can play a very crucial role when it comes to skin damage.

Woman during pregnancy and their menstrual cycle tend to develop small patches and discolouration.

The only thing which can help in preventing pigmentation and dark spots is following the right diet and lifestyle.

Keep away from food or drinks that can heat your body.

#3. Inflammation

Inflammation caused due to acne and pimple can also be a severe cause of dark spots.

The inflammation in a way burns the skin, leading to dark patches on it.

To prevent it from happening, consume food which cools your body.

You can also prefer ingredients like aloe vera gel and cucumber to calm the inflammation.
