Seriously, the chemical lip balms might be the only thing that I indirectly eat a lot of during winters. Cocoa Butter and Rose lip balm

The cold air does so much damage to our beautiful soft lips. Cocoa butter acts like the genius of moisturizing and it also acts as a protective outer layer and a barrier for your lips against dry and cold air.  Adding rose oil will give your lips the pinkish glow you’ve always desired.


  • Cocoa butter: 1 tablespoon
  • Coconut oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Dried Rosebud: 1 tablespoon
  • Rose essential oil: 2-3 drops
  • Vitamin E oil: 1/4th tablespoon


  1. On very low flame, heat the coconut oil until it is completely melted.
  2. Add the dried flower and stir again. Allow simmering for 1 hour.
  3. Strain the oil finely and then put it on heat again.
  4. Grate the cocoa butter and mix into the oil.
  5. Remove it from heat and add the Vitamin E and rose essential oil.
  6. Take into a container and settle for 3 hours at least.
  7. Use this as your regular lip balm.

Grapefruit and Shea Butter lip balm

Grapefruit essential oil nourishes the lips with Vitamin C and makes them look youthful and luscious. Shea butter moisturizes the lips and protects them from the cold wind. It contains both vitamin A and C which has healing properties for the lips.


  • Shea butter: 1 tablespoon
  • Coconut oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Castor oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Grapefruit essential oil: 1/2 tablespoon


  1. Heat the shea butter, coconut oil and castor oil on a very low flame.
  2. Remove from the heat and add the grapefruit oil and stir well.
  3. You can also add some natural colour by using beetroot powder.
  4. Store into a container.
  5. Use this as your regular lip balm.

Beeswax, Honey and Coconut Oil lip balm

All of the ingredients have several known benefits for skin and lip care. Beeswax soothes and alleviates the lips that have been subjected to damage. Honey helps to lighten the skin and is also a great antiseptic. Whereas coconut oil is a natural moisturizer. It locks in the moisture and reduces the skin inflammation.


  • Beeswax: 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Coconut oil:  1 tablespoon
  • Organic Honey: 3-4 drops
  • Vitamin E oil: few drops


  1. Melt the beeswax in a container.
  2. When it’s halfway done, add honey and coconut oil.
  3. Mix well. Add the vitamin e oil.
  4. Let it cool. Once it is done, pour into a container or an old lip balm packet.
  5. Use this as your regular lip balm.
