  1. I tried everything on my hair from coconut oil to jojoba oil but nothing worked. I was not wanting to experiment a lot with shampoos and conditioner or even serums or sprays as they have a lot of chemicals and can damage my hair. I just want to rejuvenate the hair and scalp as my hair is in perfect condition. I just wanted to improve the quality and the health. And then i stumbled upon this article and read about the benefits that lavender posses. I started using it mixed with coconut oil and other natural ingredients and it is like a magic serum for me. My hair is soft. Every time after washing my hair after using it my hair also feels dense. The hair growth is happening in the span of weeks. I suggest you guys use it too.

  2. Coconut oil does not really do much for me as well. I also have oily hair so I cannot use excess of it. Can you share me the exact recipe that you used with lavender for hair growth?

  3. Will it do anything to my skin if I directly use it on my scalp? Should I keep it away from my scalp and only use it on my hair? I have absolutely no idea how to use the essential oils.

  4. It is always advised to use an essential oil in the diluted form. They are too strong and cause excess drying when applied directly onto the scalp. If you still want to use it as is, I suggest use only bare minimum quantity.

  5. I accidentally got a little lavender oil in my eyes and I rinsed it off almost immediately with cold water but it has gotten red and it is in no way getting normal. What should I do ?It isn’t burning at all but the redness is there from past 4-5 hours now. Considering it is my eyes, I am worried. What do you suggest?

  6. This article is very detailed and I have tried almost half of the recipes from the list. They work brilliantly, My house is filled with lavender and its product because since the time I have started using it, it has become an obsession. It is mild and at the same time very effective. Do give it a try guys.

  7. Is it actually that great? I read the whole article and now I am curious. I went onto read a lot about it and I want to give it a try. However, I am a college student and I cannot waste money of things that won’t work. Can you please tell me how it helped?

  8. Well, It worked wonders for me but it might not work that well for you. So if you are a college student who is on a budget I suggest either look for a cheaper brand or give it a good thought. Natural things does not come with a guarantee but I can assure you that if it works, it will be the best thing you would have ever invested in. 😀

  9. I patch tested the lavender oil on the inside of my wrist as suggested. Nothing happened. It in fact gave me a very soothing relaxed feel. However, I then went ahead to apply it on my scalp and it itched crazy. I did not mix anything with the oil and used it raw. Was that the cause of it? I don’t know. I was very hopeful of this ingredient. I have bought a huge bottle and I want to use it for my benefits. Can someone please suggest me some ways that I can. Thank you in advance.

  10. Hi Maya, So sometimes the ingredients that work well with others don’t gel well with our skin. Nothing to worry about. You can still make this work and finish up that whole bottle of lavender oil. You scalp must have burned because you didn’t dilute the essential oil with anything. It is important that you do that because it is highly concentrated and can cause rashes, itch and even infection. Try using the same oil with a carrier oil today and if it still burns then better show it a doctor. If not then you can experiment with other carrier oil and settle with the one that best suits your hair and scalp type. Hope this was helpful. 🙂

  11. Thank you so much. I will definitely try what you have suggested. I was actually not sure of how to use essential oil on the scalp. Thank you so much for the help.

  12. Hi, I am 27 years old and my 5 years old daughter accidentally smelled the lavender oil up close. She has been feeling very un easy and have gotten a headache. I have some how put her to sleep but I want to know if it something I should be worried about. Can someone please suggest something. ASAP

  13. Lavender oil is absolutely safe for hair. All you have to do is mix it with a carrier oil to dilute it cause when applied directly onto the scalp it can be a little overwhelming and cause rashes or itch for someone who have a very sensitive skin.

  14. Oh yes! It is absolutely safe. It will act as a mild head spa when massaged onto the scalp. It will also provide a nice fragrance while working on cleaning the scalp from impurities which in turn induce faster and healthier hair growth.

  15. I am a regular user of lavender essential oil and I can bet my life on it. The soothing feeling that it provides is more than enough a reason to invest in it. Please get your hands on it as soon as possible and use it wit ha preferred carrier oil ( in y case jojoba oil ) and massage your scalp with it. It is super relaxing.

  16. Is it really effective? Did you mix anything extra with it to cure your hair and scalp problems or did you use it as is? I am really looking at stopping at one ingredient that will cure all my scalp and hair problems as I am done using multiple products which do no good.

  17. I would recommend you to show it to a doctor. It might not be burning or causing any discomfort but if your eyes are red from a couple of hours now without any improvement, I suggest get it checked as soon as possible.

  18. I love this platform. People who have actually tried these recipes can actually share and benefit others. Kuddos Glowpink. 😀

  19. I would suggest you give her some comfort food and wait for her to wake up. She might become alright by then. The fragrance of essential oil are meant to be a little on the stronger end to cure problems like depression. To take your mind off from all the negative thoughts. She might be feeling nauseas because she smelled it up close which shouldn’t be done even by an adult. Let her wake up from her sleep, she might be perfect. If not then show it to a doctor. It might cause some serious problem as well.

  20. she will be absolutely fine. I understand being a 5 year olds mother is difficult and is always very stressful but I suggest give it time and she will be fine. Just like @Michael said, let her get up from her nap and she might be perfectly normal by then.

  21. Can I use lavender oil before my classes? I stress a lot and I need something to calm my head down. But then again, I have also heard that it tends to put one to sleep. Is it true? And will using it every on the scalp to relax damage the hair and cause fall outs? Please help, I have like a zillion questions.

  22. You can absolutely use lavender oil as a stress buster but the one problem you will face is that if you are using it on your scalp, you will have to mix it with a carrier oil and that will mean that you will have to wash it every day if you don’t want to live with a greasy hair all day every day. And yes, lavender oil is known to induce sleep as it increase the slow-wave sleep which relaxes the heart beat and relaxes the mind. And honestly if your hair can bear a shampoo everyday then you can use it every day but I would still suggest you to use it only thrice every week.

  23. I don’t think using lavender oil every day is such a good idea. Essential oils are strong and using it everyday will definitely come with some sort of a drawback for sure. Moreover, if you are using it to suppress your stress, I suggest it is a bad idea as after a prolonged usage, it will stop effecting your stress entirely and especially if you use it every day. Instead use it sometimes as this way you will relax yourself by giving yourself an at home spa feel and also help your hair grow. For stress, you can always take time out and meditate a little.

  24. Those are some excellent points. And yes, it does happen, when you use something in excess, your body becomes prone to the ingredient and stop effecting at all. Try doing something that would calm you down, probably sweating it out in the gym, a good early morning run or meditation.

  25. Thank you so much for your reply. It did help. I will probably look for something else and keep lavender oil as a luxury which I go to only when required. Thank you so much @sienna @lillian @asha

  26. Is there a specific brands unscented oil that we should use for making our very own lavender oil? I am planning to make my very own lavender essential oil at home but I need a little here. Any leads appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

  27. Is there a specific reason why we use the cheesecloth or muslin fabric for this procedure? Does it help the oil? Can I use any other fabric if I don’t find it?

  28. I have heard that using castile soap for shampoos are the core reason for so much damage to hair. Is there a way to make the shampoo without adding the castile soap? Like a substitute or something?

  29. I have not really heard of an alternative for castile soap. I don’t really know how it will lather otherwise. I would suggest talking to people who have experience in making shampoo before using any other ingredient as it can further go to damage hair. Also, I think it is more about the chemicals than the castile soap that cause damage to hair.

  30. I have extremely dry hair and is it okay if I use essential oil on my scalp as well as head. Will it damage it further as whenever I rub it on my palms it dries them up entirely.

  31. It is absolutely fine because you cannot use essential oil as is . You will have to mix it with carrier oil to dilute it as using essential oil without any dilution can irritate even a perfectly healthy scalp because of its strong compounds. And when you mix it with carrier oils, there is no way that you will be left with a dry scalp or hair. Use the one that moisturize and works the best for your hair. Coconut oil, jojoba and avocado are my personal favorite. They are extremely moisturizing.

  32. You cannot use essential oil directly when using on your skin, scalp or hair. They can make the hair brittle and scalp itchy. Mix it with oil and other nourishing ingredients like yoghurt or milk to moisturize the hair while treating your problem.

  33. I used lavender oil and onion oil mask to treat my dandruff. The dandruff most definitely reduced but the smell is unbearable. I thought adding essential oil will mellow it down. But sadly no. In fact when mixed together, it burns my eyes even more. What should I do?

  34. I used recipes mentioned for dandruff as well as hair growth and I am surprised to see how quickly it has bought changes. My hair is growing at a very fast pace and it is the most healthiest hair I have ever owned. The dandruff is also almost gone. Folks, I suggest try it out. You will not regret.

  35. Sadly, there is no repair for the pungent smell that onion have. You can mix it with carrier oil but this would mild the effect even more. If it is troubling your scalp a lot, I suggest go ahead and mix a little carrier oil. If you can bear the smell then I suggest go ahead. It will be much more stronger and help in getting hair that will be strong, smooth and very healthy.

  36. No, There is no solution to onions smell. But it should ideally leave the hair after 2 washes. Maybe let the shampoo sit on your hair for a little longer.

  37. I was pregnant and too much in stress. Without informing or taking anyones suggestion, I went ahead and used lavender oil. It gave me a lot of mood swings and in fact ended up annoying me and stressing me even more. So, I have experienced it and I request any woman who pregnant to stay away from essential oil. That 3 hours till the oils effect faded was very difficult and discomforting. Also to woman who are on their period, stay clear of them as you already are going through a lot of hormonal changes, the oil can further trigger it causing unnecessary anxiousness and stress.

  38. Very detailed. An addict for Glowpinks article. 😀 Have also gotten a lot of my friends hooked on to it.

  39. All the topics that Glowpink covers are very detailed and informative. Whenever I have a problem related to health and beauty, I always first check for its solution on this platform and then go somewhere else. Quite trusted. I have also tried more than 10-15 remedies for various things and most of the times they were successful and even if they were not successful, they at least didn’t destroy it more to worsen the situation. Thank you so much.

  40. I have been a constant user of Kama Ayurveda lavender oil. I have used a lot of them that are available here but the effect that this specific brands oil had on me cannot be compared. While it is not easily available at stores here, I can always order them online. I mostly order in bulk. It is the best. I recommend it to all. Whatever is mentioned in its description is 100% true. Do give it a try.
