  1. I love lemon! I love its taste and all the benefits it gives to the body. If it were up to me I would go for lemon flavoring in everything. I already add lemon juice to everything and anything I can and the people around me get annoyed by that. What can I say which I have not said before – I just love lemon.

  2. haha, yeah me too. We would get along great – i also put lemon juice in everything. Just love the citrusy sour taste, mmmhmm.

  3. Great post!! two thumbs up. It is so extensive and well researched and detailed. Seems like I can solve all my hair problems using lemon. Okay, i am going out now to buy a bunch of lemons. Bye now.

  4. No of course not, you see this long post right here. It is filled with uses of lemon with other natural ingredients which will make your hair the best they have ever been. there are tons of commercial hair products too which use lemon so I have no idea where you got that idea.

  5. Thanks a bunch for this awesome lemon article. Love it! Had no idea lemon is so beneficial for the hair also. I do use it a lot in home remedies for my skin as it is very oily.

  6. Guys, i have an important message here. It’s a public safety disclaimer so listen up! Do not apply lemon to your skin and go out in the sun without rinsing it off thoroughly. I say that because lemon on your skin with sunlight is the perfect recipes for sunburn. so, just don’t do it, it is for your own good 🙂

  7. Yep Sherry is completely right, I have experienced that first hand and so I also try to tell that to everybody who would use lemon on their skin and does not know what mixing that with sun does. Good on ya!

  8. I love using lemon to highlight my hair! It is a totally natural way to lighten your hair as it has strong natural bleaching properties when used with sunlight. That is why it is bad for the skin as it reacts strongly when comes under direct sunlight. What I do is, mix a cup of fresh lemon juice with quarter cup of warm water. Then I apply it to my hair wherever I want the highlights to be. O h yeah, also wash and clean and dry your hair right before doing this. After applying the mixture onto your hair (only hair, not scalp, be careful about that) sit under the sun until the mixture in your hair dries completely. That’s it, just wash your with warm water and feast your eyes on some great naturally obtained highlights!

  9. Thanks Tiffany, that is a great tip! now, I will definitely try this out. I love changing up my hair every now and then but do not do it due to fear of hair damage. I think I am much more comfortable using natural ingredients rather than putting chemicals in my hair, skin and body. Cheers!

  10. I love hair and shoulders lemon fresh shampoo. It is my favorite one. It really is very effective on my dandruff. I goes some credit there goes to lemon. I love eating lemon so there’s that. I never thought that instead of buying a shampoo from the store, I could use lemon in my home to improve my hair. Well, now I definitely know and I will put my newfound knowledge to good use. Thanks to you guys!

  11. Yes, lemon is very effective I have tried it and that is why I know it firsthand. It helped cure itchiness in my scalp and also helped me shed a lot of weight. I drink lemon juice (do NOT use sugar if you want to lose weight) first thing in the morning after waking up. I am really pleased with the results and they have come quicker than anything I have tried before so… there is something in lemon..

  12. Yeah, it is true that Iemon juice can be very effective in helping you lose weight. It has tons of nutrients which are amazing for the body and will help shed those extra pounds healthily. It contains nutrients like citric acid, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, pectin and flavonoids which are fantastic for the body and help you lose weight.

  13. I have one suggestion for you : you are right, do not use sugar but you can use honey with lemon juice. It is the best combination for your health and will help with your weight loss even more.

  14. For some reason, I had a notion, which is completely wrong, now I am realizing, that lemon juice dries out the hair. However after reading your detailed article now I know better that it is great for hair. And I suffer with quite a lot of dandruff, never thought I would be able to use lemon to treat it. Now I am definitely going to use it! Thanks to Glowpink for that. Keep doing the good work you guys are doing here.

  15. Lemon juice is awesome!! It helped me get rid of my dandruff which I was struggling with for years. I had tried so many store-bought products and sunk so much money into it and still did not get lasting results, Until I turned to natural ingredients to try to get rid of my dandruff. Very soon I caught lemon on my radar. It looked like it had helped people with many hair problems including dandruff. So I said, why not, I have already tried so much and probably have irreparably damaged my hair too. Lemon totally bowled me over, it got rid of my dandruff completely and it hasn’t come back and if I even see a sign of it I go back to my trusty lemon for help and it never disappoints. So thank you lemon, I love you so much. And yeah, i like you too glowpink 😀 No, really it is awesome that you guys are a helping hand in the natural remedy revolution. Go natural gals, it is the best way. Cheers and See ya!

  16. Would you mind sharing the methods of how you used lemon to treat your dandruff?? also funny and inspiring comment, Much appreciated.

  17. Oh thank you for the kind words :). I just directly used freshly squeezed lemon juice onto my scalp. Just take a few tbsps of freshly squeezed lemon juice and massage it onto your scalp. Let it stay on your scalp for like 10 minutes and then wash your head with a mild shampoo. That’s all you need to do. Do it like 2-4 times in a week depending upon your level of dandruff. I have quite a hardy skin and its not really sensitive at all that is why I could use it directly. If you have sensitive skin, you can simply dilute it with water. Or you can also try diluting it with another dandruff busting natural ingredient but you will have to look for that one your self. Good luck with your dandruff. See ya.

  18. Hey guys. Anybody looking to use lemon to bleach their hair or give it highlights and have dark black hair; I have some crucial information for you guys, you better pay attention here, or I am not responsible for the damage to your hair 😛 obviously. my friend tried lemon too to bleach her hair (She has dark black hair) and her hair instead turned very orange and also started sticking with each other and tangling and forming bunches. She washed it every day with shampoo and it still did not help much. So if you have dark hair, do not attempt to bleach your hair with lemon. You have been warned. I am off now. Toodles.

  19. Terrific post detailing the uses of lemon for hair. Awesome work guys, more articles like this would not hurt. Cheers and Thanks a bunch for sharing this with us.

  20. You are totally right. Using lemon to bleach or highlight dark hair does not work. I have experienced it firsthand. However, I have a method which might work on other dark haired women as it did on me too and I have very dark black colored hair. To do my method you will need the following ingredients : Lemon, water, oil and sun. Now onto the procedure. First of all, Slice a lemon into half and squeeze the juice from it in a cup. Mix in 4 tbsp of oil and half a cup of water to the cup with lemon juice and mix the ingredients together. Now, put the blend on your hair and then stay under the sun for about 10 to 12 minutes. That is all you will need. Hope this helps out people. All the best!

  21. Hey guys, nice article! I am a 32 year old woman and recently started using lemon juice on my hair and scalp to get rid of the annoying dandruff. But then my friend said to me that using lemon juice on the hair can make it go gray and so I should not use it on y hair. Is she right?? Please reply soon, now I am kinda worried about my hair cause I have been using it for like a couple of weeks.

  22. Hmm, I would suggest that you do not use lemon juice directly on your hair. It is quite useful for your but it also has citric acid in it which could be harmful to your hair. My recommendation is that you use diluted lemon juice and just on your scalp. That will be really beneficial in getting rid of your dandruff and won’t damage or dry out your hair that way. You can dilute it with ingredients like yogurt, water, and oils like almond oil or coconut oil. Good luck!

  23. Lemons are so great! I never would have thought that I could use it to treat my hair problems. I love to cook and lemons and limes are couple of my favorite ingredients. They have strong sour and citrus taste which makes for delectable dishes but since it has acid in it I would have assumed that using it on the skin or hair would not be feasible. But now, I am curious to try these remedies out. You people have any recommendation as to which hair mask should I try first? My hair are feeling quite lifeless and dead nowadays. Which mask should I use to put the life back into them?

  24. Hey Nicole. I love lemon too, probably as much as you. I also love involving them in as much dishes as it would go with. I would say start with a simple mask which has few but effective ingredients. You can go for Coconut oil and lemon hair mask. That mask will make your hair smoother, stronger and shinier too. Or you can go for the white hair mask with lemon juice . It is great for rejuvenating the hair and giving the liveliness back to your hair which you said were looking for. I would recommend you try these out first. I would love to listen to your experience and feedback once you have tested them out. All the best and Have fun! 🙂

  25. Thanks a lot Mable! thanks for taking the time to read my comment and then replying too, and with useful and helpful suggestions no less. Am I on the internet or twilight zone lol. I will try out these masks and it would be pleasure sharing the results, the after image, with you guys. Thanks again and cheers!

  26. Love it! awesome and such a well written post. Keep it up and I will keep visiting. Bye

  27. Hey guys, good day to all. I love using lemon on my hair, I have a really oily scalp and hair so I was always looking for ways to suppress that oiliness as it weighed down my hair and they looked limp and just too greasy. That was until I found lemon. I did not really find it, o course I used it all the time but never on hair. I never realized that it could be used to suppress the oiliness of my scalp and hair. I started using a simple home made lemon juice hair rinse which i used after rinsing my hair and shampooing. To follow this particular remedy first shampoo your hair. Then take a mixture of lemon juice from a lemon with a cup of water and apply the mixture onto your hair. Then, about 3-5 minutes later, wash your hair and scalp with warm water and you should be done. This remedy is really effective and totally cheap and will help you too if you have got excessively oily hair and scalp. I hope this helps someone. Goodbye.

  28. Hey guys I have an important tip for you. It is imperative that you do not use lemon juice or any remedies which involve lemon juice on your hair if you recently have been swimming in a chlorinated pool or if you have recently colored your hair using chemical based methods. That is because in such situation, lemon juice can have very unwanted and unforeseen effects on your hair by changing its color to something weird. Heed this warning ladies, it is for your own good.

  29. Thanks for the important warning! I looked into it a bit and this is one hundred percent correct. So… yeah, do not do what Cecilia said here. do not use lemon on hair if there is chlorine or other hair dying chemicals in there. Just do not do it. Try some other remedies with other ingredients if you are so inclined.

  30. Terrific article on a variety of uses of lemon for hair! Definitely bookmarking this because I will be coming back here to try out many many recipes. as much as i can. thanks a lot for your work, it is much appreciated

  31. Hello ladies, I have a great lemon hair spray recipe which is made from all natural ingredients and will liven up your hair and imbue it with a fresh lemony scent. To make the lemon hair spray, take a liter of water in a pan and put about 3 or 4 sliced lemons in it. Then bring the water to a boil and let it simmer for about twenty minutes. Then, strain the water to remove the lemons and add a few drops your preferred essential oil for your hair to the water. You have created the hairspray, pour it in a spray bottle and store it in the fridge for further usage. Enjoy zesty and fresh smelling great hair.
