Tomatoes are used in all kinds of cuisine and also almost always is sitting in our homes. Well, thanks to its brilliant properties, it can be used to do a facial to improve its condition, nourish it and cleanse it in order to get flawless-looking skin. Using this routine twice in a month will give you a skin that will look like you are spending thousands of bucks on it. Follow this facial routine to get there!

Step-1 Cleanser

Tomato and Cucumber

Things you will need:

 Cucumber  1/2
 Tomato  1 Small

Procedure:

  1. Take 1/2 a cucumber, peel it and dice it into smaller pieces.
  2. Use a small tomato, peel it and chop it into small pieces as well.
  3. Toss both the ingredients in a blender and make a puree.
  4. Transfer it into a bowl and apply this mixture onto your face.
  5. Let it sit for 15 minutes and rinse it off using water and pat the skin dry.

Cucumber and tomatoes are excellent cleansing agents. Tomato helps in cleansing the dirt and in turn lightening the skin tone as well. Cucumber also contains cooling agent that freshens the face whilst hydrating the skin.

Step-2 Toner

 Tomato Juice  1/2 Cup
 Lemon  1/2

Procedure:

  1. Take 1 tomato and juice it out in a bowl.
  2. Squeeze 1/2 a lemon into it and mix both the ingredients well.
  3. Take a spray bottle and transfer this mix into it.
  4. Using a cotton pad, apply this concoction onto your face.
  5. Let the skin absorb it.

Tomatoes contain high contents of potassium and vitamin C which restore the skins glow and also help remove skin tan. Lemon juice contains bleaching agents which helps in working on the tan as well as on the dark spots. The citric acid works with the skin and make it brighter from within.

Step-3 Steam

Hydrating Steam

Things you will need: 

 Dried Chamomile  3 ml
 Dried Rose Petals  3 ml
 Lemon Peel  6 ml
 Water  1 Bowl

Procedure:

  1. Take a bowl and fill it with hot water.
  2. Add in 3 ml worth dried chamomile, 3 ml of rose petals and 6 ml of lemon peel in it.
  3. Give it a stir and let it sit covered for a few seconds for the ingredients to fuse with the water.
  4. Lean over the bowl mixture, keep your face about 8 inches from the water, and cover your head and face with a towel like a tent.
  5. Steam your face for 10 minutes and rinse your face lukewarm water.

Steam works by opening the pores and cleansing it in order to repair the damage from within. It also helps in releasing & loosening the dirt and debris from your pores which makes it easier to remove problems like whiteheads and blackheads. The impurities can also be the cause for a darker and dull skin, therefore, using this will help in clearing the skin whilst working as as a hydrater.

Step-4 Exfoliator

Tomato, Honey And Sugar

Things you will need:

 Tomato  1/2
 Honey  1 tbsp
 Sugar  1/2 tbsp

Procedure:

  1. Take 1/2 a tomato and toss it in the blender to make a fine puree.
  2. Transfer this into a bowl and add all the other ingredients to it as well.
  3. Apply this paste on your face and gently exfoliate the skin for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Leave it on for 5-6 minutes, wipe it using a warm cloth and rinse it off using cold water.
  5. Pat the skin dry.

Sugar is a natural exfoliator which helps in rubbing the impurities as well as the darkness away. Honey contains antioxidants which help in repairing the skin damage from deeper roots. Tomato helps in clearing the skin and this in totallity helps to make the skin glow.

Step-5 Mask

Tomato Pulp, Lemon And Oatmeal Mask

Things you will need: 

 Tomato Pulp  1 tbsp
 Lemon Juice  1 Tsp
 Oatmeal Flour  2-3 Tsp

Procedure:

  1. Take a tomato and mash it in order to make it attain the pulpy consistency.
  2. Add in 1 Tsp of lemon juice and 2-3 Tsp of oatmeal to it.
  3. Mix all the ingredients really well in order to make a paste.
  4. Apply this onto your face in a thick layer and leave it on for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Rinse it off using cold water and pat the skin dry.

Repeat this treatment twice in a week for skin that is glowing.

Tomatoes and lemon juice both contains skin brightening and bleaching properties which helps in working on the dark spots, tans and also a dull skin. Oatmeal gives a final exfoliation to the skin and also helps in getting rid of dirt, excess sebum and also dead skin. This mask in totality helps in clearing the skin of dirt, working on clogged pores and also brightening the skin.

Step-6 Moisturizer

Aloe Vera Gel, Argan Oil And Tea Tree Oil

Things you will need: 

 Aloe Vera Gel  1/2 cup
 Argan Oil  1/2 tbsp
 Tea Tree Oil  7 drops
 Rose Essential Oil  7 drops

Procedure:

  1. Take a bowl and add 1/2 cup of aloe vera gel, 1/2 tbsp of argan oil, 7 drops of tea tree oil and 7 drops of rose essential oil in it.
  2. Mix all the ingredients really well.
  3. Once done with the facial treatment, apply some of this mix onto your skin.
  4. Massage well till the mixture is absorbed in the skin.

Aloe vera helps in hydrating the skin and also works on blemishes and acne which cause the skin dullness. Argan oil helps againnst ageing signs and massaging it on the skin will help in brightening the skin. Tea tree oil clears the clogs and rose oil balances the pH while improving the condition of the face.
