What is the generic name (s)?

The generic component of Colospa Retard is Mebeverine. It is present in the strength of 200 mg in each tablet. Mebeverine belongs to class of medicines called as antispasmodics.

This should be taken 20min before or after having the food

Mebeverine works by relaxing gut muscles by anticholnergic action and avoids painful contraction of smooth muscles in intestines. Still specific working action of mebeverine which is active drug of brand drug colospa retard is not known.
