The generic name for Folvite is Folic acid which is the man-made form of Folate ( Vitamin B9). Folate is naturally found in certain types of foods .
Folic acid is present in the strength of 5 mg per tablet.

Folic acid, the generic component in Folvite tablets works to have good health for cells like red blood cells. It is needed to to manage and prevent low levels of folate in the body. It is inactive biochemically . By dihydrofolate reductase it is converted to methyltetrahydrofolate and tetrahydrofolic acid . There they maintain normal erythropoiesis, synthesize purine and thymidylate nucleic acids, interconvert amino acids, methylate tRNA, and generate and use formate.
