The active ingredient and generic for this medicine is Lansoprazole . It is present in the strength of 30 mg in each capsule.

How does it work ?

Lansoprazole works by inhibiting the action of proton pump and decreases the amount acid produce in the stomach. It results in normalizing the acidity of stomach and maintaining the digestion.

Lansoloc capsule is used in the prevention, control & treatment of the following diseases and conditions :

This drug is classified by FDA as pregnancy category ‘B’ No risk in other studies: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.

No, It is not an antacid. Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor and it reduces the production of acid in stomach. It doesn’t neutralizes the acids present in stomach.
