What is the generic name (s)?

Moxikind CV 625 contain two active ingredients in the following strengths per tablet:

  • Clavulanic Acid[1] — 125 mg
  • Amoxicillin[2] — 500 mg

How does it work ?

Clavulanic acid is a type of medicine called beta-lactamase inhibitors. Beta-lactamase is secreted by the bacteria to protect themselves from antibiotic drugs[3] like Amoxicillin. Clavulanic acid stops the activity of beta-lactamase and allows antibiotics to act against the bacteria[4].

Amoxicillin is a penicillin[5] antibiotic that fights bacteria. It works very effectively against both gram +ve and gram -ve bacteria. It interferes with the production of the bacterial cell wall. Amoxicillin weakens and ruptures the cell wall of bacteria and kills it.

Moxikind CV 625 is a penicillin derivative antibiotics. This tablet is used for the treatment of following infections caused by bacteria:

  • Skin infections, rashes.

  • Infection in bladder like cystitis
  • Gonorrhea[8]
  • Tonsillitis[9] and other throat infections

This drug will not work against infections caused by viruses such as colds or the flu.
