What is the generic name (s)?

Nutrolin B syrup has the following generics, also given is their composition with respect to their individual strength per 5 ml of the syrup:

  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)                  —     2 mg
  • Lactic acids (Lactobacillus)           —    40 million spores
  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)                 —    2.5 mg
  • Vitamin B3 (Nicotinamide)           —    20 mg
  • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)                —    1.5 mg

How does it work ?

Pyridoxine (One of the forms of Vitamin B6), helps your body metabolize protein, fats, and carbohydrates and plays a vital role in the development of brain, nervous system, skin and other parts of the body. Vitamin B6 is used for the treatment of anemia caused by the deficiency of Vitamin B6 and for the treatment of heart disease, high cholesterol and in reducing blood levels of homocysteine.

Lactic acid (Lactobacillus) is beneficial bacteria. This bacteria invades the pathogens from intestine and stomach. This bacteria helps in restoring the intestinal flora after antibiotic treatment and also treats diarrhea.

Nutrolin B works towards the restoration of normalcy in various metabolic functions. Different types of vitamin act in their specific case, like the water soluble vitamins help in the metabolism of Carbohydrates, alcohol and branched chain amino acids.

  • Allergic to any of the component of this syrup

It must not be substituted for folic acid or any other individual component. It is also advised to monitor the effect of this syrup by doing regular blood tests.

Is it safe to take if I am pregnant ?

This drug is classified by FDA as pregnancy category ‘B’ No risk in other studies: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
