Yoghurt’s lactic acid attacks the impurities in your hair and moisturizes your scalp at the same time. Egg yolk helps replace protein and fat in your scalp. Egg white contains enzymes that remove and clean excessive oil. Here are a few ways in which you can use yoghurt and egg to get rid of dandruff :

Yoghurt, Egg and Honey Hair Mask

Ingredients :

  • ½ cup yoghurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Method :

  1. In a bowl combine the yoghurt, honey and egg.
  2. Whisk this mixture well to blend.
  3. Apply this mask to your hair starting from the roots/scalp and work your way down to the tips.
  4. Keep this mask on for 25-30 minutes and let it dry.
  5. Wash off this mixture with cold water and a sulphate-free/mild shampoo.

You can use this hair mask 1-2 times a week to get rid of dandruff. The yoghurt helps in stabilizing your scalp and hair’s pH and reduces excessive oil production. The honey and egg moisturize your hair. The egg supplies your scalp and hair with necessary nourishment, which helps reduce dry, flaky dandruff.


Green Tea, Yogurt and Egg

Ingredients :

  • ½ cup of green tea prepared in water
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • ½ cup yoghurt
  • 1 egg

Method :

  1. Combine all ingredients in a container and set it aside for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Rinse your hair under cold water and then apply this mixture to the hair and scalp.
  3. Massage well and keep on for 15 minutes.
  4. Wash it off with a mild shampoo and do not forget to condition the tips of your hair.

For best results apply this concoction once a week. Green tea is an excellent conditioner that has anti-microbial properties and antioxidants that helps in removing all impurities from your scalp and hair. The vinegar helps balance the pH and reduces oil production which can cause oily dandruff and increase the infection. Eggs nourish and yoghurt helps remove bacteria and microbes from the scalp.

Fenugreek, Hibiscus, Egg and Yogurt Mask

Ingredients :

  • 1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds
  • 12-15 hibiscus leaves
  • ½ cup yoghurt
  • 1 egg

Method :

  1. Soak the fenugreek seeds overnight in a cup of water.
  2. The next day blend the fenugreek seeds and the hibiscus leaves together till you get a paste.
  3. Add the yoghurt and egg to this mixture and blend well till you get a smooth uniform paste.
  4. Apply this mixture to your hair, from the roots to the tips.
  5. Leave the mask on for 30 minutes approximately.
  6. Wash the mask off with cold water and a mild shampoo. Condition your hair well.

This hair mask can be used 2-3 times a week. Hibiscus leaves are used as a treatment for dry hair and dandruff removal as well. Fenugreek seeds help remove impurities which can cause dandruff from your scalp. Eggs and yoghurt in combination with these ingredients work as an excellent solution for conditioning hair and tackling dandruff.
