What Is Wet Dandruff?

The body has sebaceous glands which produce sebum that keeps different parts of the body highly nourished and protect them from going dry. But the problem begins when there is an overdrive due to either your dietary changes, hygiene or plain external factors. This causes the gland to produce excessive oil, and thus, more impurities and dead skin get stuck onto it. This is what causes a type of dandruff called wet dandruff.

Aloe Vera Treatment

Things you will need:

 Aloe Vera Gel  3-4 tbsp
 Towel  1
 Hot Water  As required

Procedure:

  1. Take Aloe vera gel in your palm and apply it directly onto the scalp. You can skip applying it to the hair.
  2. Take a towel and soak it into some water. Squeeze it to take the excess water out.
  3. Wrap it around your head and leave it on for about half an hour.
  4. Wash off the aloe vera gel with a mild shampoo and finish with a conditioner.

Repeat this treatment thrice in a week to see any visible difference.

Aloe vera contains cleansing enzyme which helps with all kinds of impurities and even wet dandruff. It also helps in balancing the oil buildup and the glycoproteins present in it reduce inflammation and soothe itchiness which worsen the situation of wet dandruff.

Fenugreek Treatment

Things you will need:

 Fenugreek Seed  2 tbsp
 Water  1 cup

Procedure:

  1. Take 1 cup and fill it with water.
  2. Add fenugreek seeds to it and leave it overnight to soak up.
  3. In the morning, grind it to make a paste out of it. You can add little lemon juice if you want.
  4. Apply this onto your scalp and leave it on for half an hour.
  5. Rinse it off using a mild cleanser and finish with a conditioner.

Repeat this treatment twice in a week to see the dandruff vanish.

Fenugreek contains antibacterial properties which help in fightening against the dandruff, both wet and dry. It is also an excellent ingredient when you have fungus growing on your scalp.

Baking Soda Treatment

Things you will need:

 Baking Soda  1 tbsp
 Lukewarm water  As required

Procedure:

  1. Begin by rinsing your hair with lukewarm water. This will help in opening up the follicles.
  2. Now, take the baking soda and apply it onto your scalp.
  3. Massage it in a circular motion for about a minute and rinse it off again using lukewarm water.

Repeat this process about two to three times every week.

Baking Soda can be trusted when it comes to cleansing of the scalp. It helps in washing off all the dead skin cells and also help in absorbing the excess oil which leads to this problem in the first place.

Amla Treatment

Things you will need:

 Amla Juice  5 tbsp
 Cotton Ball  1

Procedure:

  1. Take some natural, homemade amla juice in a container. You can also opt for the commercially available juice.
  2. Dip one cotton ball into it and apply this onto your scalp.
  3. Cover it thoroughly and massage your scalp in a circular motion till the juice dries out.
  4. Rinse it off normally using your shampoo and condition to finish.

Use this remedy once every week to see the difference.

Amla work as a great anti-dandruff ingredient and also helps in balancing the pH of the scalp. It contains itamin C, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties which all work towards treating the dandruff problem.

Egg Treatment

Things you will need:

 Egg White  of 2 eggs
 Water  2 tbsp

Procedure:

  1. Take a container and break open 2 eggs into it. Use only their white part.
  2. Add in the water and whip it really well.
  3. Apply this onto your scalp and make sure that you have got it all covered.

  5. Finish by rinsing your hair using lukewarm water.

Repeat this treatment till you see your dandruff vanishing.

Egg white contains properties which suck up excess oil and balances it for the surface. Wet dandruffs are mainly caused due to excessive oil, thus this treatment works brilliantly.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Things you will need:

 Apple Cider Vinegar  1/2 Cup
 Cotton Ball  1

Procedure:

  1. Take a cup and fill it half with apple cider vinegar.
  2. Dip a cotton ball into it and apply this onto your entire scalp. You can also pour the whole thing on your head, but it can just be messier.
  3. Massage it gently in a circular motion for a couple of minutes.
  4. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then rinse it off using your normal shampoo and conditioner.

Repeat this treatment atleast once in a week.

Apple cider vinegar helps in regulating the sebum production and controls excess production which is a very important causing factor of wet dandruff.

Lemon And Vinegar Treatment

Things you will need:

 Lemon Juice  1 tbsp
 Vinegar  2 tbsp
 Water  As required

Procedure:

  1. Take a container and mix the lemon juice and vinegar in it.
  2. Add in water based on how much you want to dilute the solution. This will vary based on the scalp type.
  3. Take a cotton ball, dip it into this solution and apply it onto your scalp.
  4. Massage it for a while and rinse it off using your normal shampoo and conditioner.

Use this treatment twice in a week.

Both lemon and vinegar are great ingredients when it comes to sucking excess oil up. Lemon also contains antibacterial properties which directly target the dandruffs.
